Before Loki could even blink, I had made a plan.
"I don't think you'll find it funny."
I placed my lips on his, causing his grip on my wrists to loosen in surprise. Not wasting any time, I slammed my knee into his stomach, and he doubled over. Using my foot, I pulled his legs out from under him. He landed on his back hard, and I heard the air get knocked out of him. After planting my foot on his chest, I bent over and looked at his face."Does this count as trying to stop you?"
He let out a groan that turned to a dark chuckle.
"What the hell is going on here?"
I turned my head. Nick Fury stood behind me, arms crossed over his chest. I moved my foot.
"Get up," I said forcefully. He took too long for my liking, so I grabbed wrists with a small flame. He stood up, and if looks could kill I'd be dead. I looked away, letting go of the fire.
"I heard your name's Agent Fury. I'm Diana," I said, holding out my hand. Fury shook it once before looking back at the dark haired god behind me.
"I know your name. And you didn't answer my question."
"Oh, I was just dealing with a little issue. I solved it, right Loki?"
He bit his lip before giving me a fake smirk."You sure did."
"I'm not going to question that. Follow me."
Fury turned on his heel and started down the hallway. I grabbed Loki's elbow and followed behind."You think I'm pretty?"
"Shut up."
"Ooh, now you're agitated. If it's not any trouble, I think you're pretty, too.""For being the god of lies, that wasn't very convincing."
"I'm the god of mischief. Lies just come with it. But that was no lie."
"I said shut up."
"That kiss was an experience. You seemed to enjoy yourself."
It took all of my self control not to smack him across the face. He was pushing my buttons and he knew it"You two can stop your chatter back there. We have more important matters to deal with."
All three of us walked into a meeting room. Thor, Steve, Natasha, Banner, and Barton were already standing around a large table in the center, projecting something above it. At closer inspection, I could see it was some kind of map.
"Brother! I see you're have a bit of a get together with your friends-"
I held out my foot, and Loki tripped over it. He didn't fall far before I pulled him back up.
"Oops," I said in response to his death glare. I heard Fury laugh quietly.
"You're right, Romanoff. She would be a fun addition."
"Addition to what?"
"Thor needs to take Loki back to Asgard. Since that would leave you without a job, we were thinking we would take you on a quick mission to see if you could help the team."
I looked over at Steve, who had spoken up. Natasha nudged him with his shoulder with a smirk on her face."Okay, um, I'm not sure that's a good idea. I don't really do the team-building-fighting-bad-guys thing. I just happen to have this ability."
"This isn't a difficult mission. Just a warm up, Pipsqueak," Tony said as he marched into the room.
"You're late," Fury said, matter-of-factly.
"I was coming up with a nickname for Diana. You know you love me, Fury. Don't act all tough."
I looked past their mini conversation to study Steve. He was tall, almost the same height as Loki. His hair was blonde, which matched well with his blue eyes. The shirt he was wearing was a light grey and his jeans were dark blue. He had a decently attractive face, nice cheekbones and sharp jawline. We locked eyes for a second, and I swear he smirked.
