I spent the rest of the morning classes lost in thought, my mind replaying the cryptic conversation with Lisa. The idea that Bellatrix had tangled herself in something so serious that it caught the attention of that group was terrifying. What could she have possibly done? And more importantly, why didn't she tell me?

I stared at the blackboard, but the words and equations blurred together, my concentration obliterated. Last summer's memory kept creeping back—like a dark shadow lurking at the edges of my thoughts. That camping trip, which was supposed to be nothing more than a fun getaway, turned out to be the event that changed everything. Not just for me, but for Bellatrix too. We had both emerged different, but in ways I never fully understood until now.

By the time recess rolled around, I felt like I was walking through molasses, each step toward the meeting spot with Lisa heavier than the last. Natalie and Bianca trailed behind me, whispering words of encouragement, but their voices felt distant. All I could think about was what Lisa had said: "You have to pay for what your sister did."

When I reached the agreed spot behind the gym, Lisa was already there, leaning casually against the wall with her arms crossed. Her smirk was gone, replaced by a more serious expression. Her friends were nowhere to be seen, which made me even more uneasy.

"Alright, Lisa, what did Bellatrix do?" I asked, trying to sound more confident than I felt.

She tilted her head slightly, studying me as if deciding whether to reveal a terrible secret. "Your sister... she stole something from us."

My heart skipped a beat. "Stole? Bellatrix isn't a thief. She might be a troublemaker, but she wouldn't—"

"Oh, she did. And it wasn't just some petty item. It was something important, something we need back," Lisa interrupted, her voice low and firm. "She's been avoiding us ever since. You might not know this, Hera, but in our world, when someone takes something valuable, they either return it or face the consequences."

I felt a cold shiver run down my spine. This was getting way out of hand. Bellatrix and I had been through tough spots before, but this... this was different. I had no idea what she had gotten herself into, but now I was dragged into it too.

"What exactly did she take?" I managed to ask, my voice trembling.

Lisa's eyes narrowed, and she took a step closer. "That's for you to find out, Hera. Because if she doesn't return it by the end of the week, you're the one who's going to pay the price."

With those words, she turned and walked away, leaving me standing there, a storm of emotions raging inside me. What could Bellatrix have taken? And why didn't she trust me enough to tell me? Whatever it was, I had to find out fast—before the consequences Lisa hinted at became a reality.

Natalie and Bianca rushed to my side, their faces pale. "What are we going to do?" Natalie whispered, echoing the fear that was gnawing at me.

"I don't know yet," I replied, staring after Lisa. "But I'm going to get to the bottom of this. Whatever it takes."

And with that, a plan started to form in my mind. I would confront Bellatrix. I needed to know the truth, and I needed to know it now. Because if I didn't, this could be the summer that destroyed everything.
