One day, when all were spending their weekend on Saturday at home, Siya thought to go for a tour. "Hey friends, from many days we haven't gone anywhere."Yes, we should go somewhere. "Manaswi said. "Let's search in this Atlas!" They took their atlas and searched for different countries.
Abha said, "We should go to Rajasthan. I love its culture. I want to know about artifacts found there." "No it's summer and I don't want to get melt there," Siya said. "China?" Manaswi asked. "No! I have visited it with my team for the plant's study last year. We should go to a cool and beautiful place." Shakti said.
"Ok, so what about Lakshadweep islands?" "No," Siya shouted. They started searching and turning pages and after long hours, they decided to travel to America. "So now America is final right?"Abha asked. Before anyone could say anything, suddenly, a mighty wind blew from the window and their atlas fell down from the table, and there opened the page of country Switzerland. They saw the beautiful mountains of Switzerland. They were amazed to see it. But still, they ignored it so as not to start any new argument about it and talked about America.
Just then, their maid Saila came into the room. "This is the globe you have ordered." She said handing the globe to Manaswi. "Yeah thank you, keep it here and go." "Hey here is a pin on this globe lets spin it," Diksha said trying to have some fun. They spun the globe and when it stopped, it was pointing at the country Switzerland. They heard a loud clang of heavy metals. It sounded terribly annoying. "What is that? How loud noise it is!" Siya shouted closing her ears with her hands.
They came out on their balcony. They saw that a truck loaded with huge heavy iron rods overturned and all iron rods rolled over the road. There was a rush across the street. Some people got injured, but nobody was there to help. It was a horrifying view.
The six friends ran down the stairs and took the injured people to their homes for rest. They called the doctors to help them and an ambulance for seriously injured people. In this rush, Khushbu saw someone shouting in pain in that overturned truck. She saw an old man seriously injured. "Help me, is anybody here!" He shouted as if his voice is going to disappear. Khushbu galloped towards him calling everyone there. They reached towards him and took him out from the truck.
"Let me call an ambulance," Manaswi said taking out her phone. "No wait, I don't think I will live for more than some seconds." He said thinking as if death is knocking on his door. "I guess, I knew this man. I have seen him somewhere." Shakti thought but canceled to think about it understanding the seriousness of the situation.
"Can you do me a favor?" He asked them in a trembling voice. "See, you are seriously injured. Let us take you to the hospital." Diksha said relieving him. "N- no, I cannot live anymore. Help me please. I-I don't understand what to d-do. Just take this box to my daughter..." Saying this in a shivering voice he closed his eyes. "He is dead. Of what box he was talking about?" Abha asked. They investigated the truck and found a letter in a suitcase.
Dear Kara,
I hope you are well. I want to give you something special. It is a box of our ancestors which they passed over for ages. Now I want to hand it to you. But it is our tradition that we should hand it to next-generation with $1355 (1lakhs) to be able to keep it with you.
As you know I don't have much money for that. Doing some laborer work, cleaning, gardening, transportation and etc. I am working for three years to raise money for that, I have hit my goal. Now I am going to transport this truck to a factory. I will reach you soon and complete my last goal of life.
Your old dad,
Baron Wilson
It was the letter he had written today. They read it and eventually, all got tears in their eyes. "What a hardworking man he is. He was sincere to his duties." Siya said. Just then, they saw a brown box in the suitcase beside the letter.
"It just looked like rubbish. Well, I may not say that. It seems to be very important for the Wilson family. But where does his daughter live?" Khushbu asked. Just then with siren ringing on the police vans, police arrived there to examine the situation. "They came very soon... Right?" Shakti said using verbal irony. "But now let's leave from here; I don't want to be the part of this case." They went back to their home. Shakti took the letter and suitcase of that old man with her unknowingly to anyone.
"Ok, so what do you think? Who was that person?" Abha asked when they were going to their bed at night. "Baron Wilson is written in this letter," Shakti said thumbing the letter on their clue board beside the window. She usually did this whenever she researched something. "Hey wait why have you brought that with you?" Diksha asked her in tensed face. "Have you lost your mind Shakti? We are not going to do anything ok!" Siya exclaimed. Everyone started her blaming.
"But friends, he was the man who saved my life in an accident and now I want to repay him," Shakti said remembering who was that man, completing her thought that came into her mind during that accident.
It was a sunny morning when she was returning home from the research center. She was crossing the road talking on her phone when she didn't notice a car was coming in a speed towards her. The accident was about to happen when that same old man pushed her and saved her life. "Are you all stone heart people? Haven't you all seen the last hope in the eyes of that old guy?" Shakti tried to make them understand. "We have, but..." Diksha got her head down. "I think Shakti is right. We should support her statement. We can go to Switzerland for a trip and complete this work also, right?" Manaswi suggested trying to make the situation better. All gave a smile and a hug. Their smile showed that they agreed with her.
