Jaeseop was led by his classmates through the large building.
The hallways seemed endless, and Jaeseop wondered if he'd ever learn how to get his way through them without any help.
It looked as if their journey ended, because all of the students stopped at one small door in the middle of a hallway amongst many other doors.
This particular door is painted red, and the rest of the doors were painted many other colors. Some colors repeated on multiple doors, but only this one was red.
Jaeseop followed the other students into what seemed like a pitch black room, so dark that he couldn't see what he was walking inside to. The second he stepped both feet through the door, it was as if someone turned on all of the lights at once, everything came into full clear view.
The room was clearly supposed to be a classroom, but the seats are all in rows that escalate upward as they spand further back, like the seats in a movie theater. Even more peculiar, Jaeseop can't see where the rows of seats end. The further up and back they go, the more they seem to disappear into a void.
The whole class was just Jaeseop and the people he sat with in the cafeteria, so it's odd that the classroom is so big and has so many seats.
None of the students really sit too close together though. The Fugisaki sisters sit next to each other in the middle of the front row. Haru sits right behind Chishiya. Lena sits in the same row as Haru, only a few seats away from him. Reiseo sits about 3 rows up away from Haru, the furthest away out of all of the group.
Jaeseop kind of stands there in front of the room just staring at the empty desks. He almost forgot how anxiety fueling being the new student is. He didn't even think this reaper business would spark that feeling in him again.
"oOoH sit next to me!!" Haruka frantically waved his hands in the air and yelled out to Jaeseop as if he were far away on the other side of the room, even though they were only a few steps apart.
Jaeseop took a deep breath to try and calm his nerves, this isn't even a full class, there's nothing to be scared about, he's already practically made friends. In a few strides, he was sitting next to Haru, not sure what to do next.
The class was calm out of the 6 of them, some scribbling in notebooks, some quietly chatting, and some just sitting there waiting like Jaeseop.
A minute or two passed before the door opened again. Everyone stopped what they were doing and got completely quiet, sitting up straight and eyes forward to the blank whiteboard.
In walked the looming figure of Mr. Grim. He had to duck under the doorframe in order to walk into the room, but he still looks as intimidating as ever when bent over to half his size.
Mr. Grim stopped when he was in front of all of the seated students.
Jaeseop watched as the looming man lifted his hands, and lightly pulled the sides of his hood, taking it off for the first time since Jaeseop has been here.Shockingly, the face that the deep and powerful voice belonged to looks young and glowing. He doesn't even look older than any of the students here, but surely he has to be!
Piercings littered all the way up both ears, and he had two piercings on his left eyebrow.
His hair is two-toned; one half a dark raven shade, and the other bleached blonde. The length of his locks came down to his sharp jawline.Nobody else seemed taken back by the unlikely looks of their teacher, so Jaeseop assumed this was normal.
The teacher cleared his throat with a booming cough. His looks didn't change how strict he can be, this man was still the same one he met a little while ago. "First things first, Natsuki won't be here for today's class."
"wHat?! No fair! She always gets to skip class and do cool stuff!" Nami loudly protested.
"You know what she's doing is serious right now. She can't be bothered to come to class and practice things she already knows, when she could be out there doing her job instead." Mr. Grim ended the topic then and there, not about to argue about it any further.
Jaeseop began to wonder if he'd ever actually meet the infamous "Natsuki." After all that the others had told him about her, she sounded too important to be troubled with new students.
"Alright. Since Jaeseop is here, we're going to be doing things a little different today." Mr. Grim's beaming eyes slowly scanned every student.
"I'm going to pair him up with one of you. It'll be a different person each day, so all of you will be with him at least once. I want him to not only learn how we do things around here first hand, but also get to know everyone personally." Mr. Grim paused, then made sure to be glaring directly at Reiseo as he spoke his next sentence.
"It is an important part of reaping to know your fellow reapers well."
Reiseo kept his stony expression, not giving any cares that this comment was apparently made specifically for him.
"Jaeseop!"
Said boy jumped a little in his seat when his name was called by the teacher.
"You're going to be paired up with Mr. Matsuoka today."
Haru silently expressed his joy in his seat with a fist bump.
Mr. Grim went back to addressing the whole class. "Let's get to the training room. I'll give you your bookwork pages at the end of the session."
Bookwork pages?
Dang, even in reaper school there's bookwork. Jaeseop internally sighed."Let's go partner!!" Haru excitedly hopped out of his seat and headed in the direction the rest of the class was going. Jaeseop followed them to a door on the other side of the room.
So this begins reaping lessons.
