You sprinted as fast as you could, Megumi following a few steps behind you.

It's already 9. Sasaki-san should be on the other side of the village, selling the vegetables. That means...

Sora is alone at home.

You spotted the house and immediately ran faster, opening the door only to see a mess. Furnitures destroyed, the kitchen ruined, and Sora nowhere to be found.

"Sora! Sora! Where are you?!" You desperately yelled, your heart beat quickening.

"Hino!" Megumi shouted and you instantly whipped your head to him. "The back door!"

You rushed to the back door and saw that it was destroyed. A trail of red glowing footprints leaded to the nearby forest. You headed out, jumped over the fence and went into the forest. You reached a clearing in the middle and there you saw it. The back of a curse, slowly walking away from you. You saw a rock beside your feet and took it. You shouted and threw it at the curse's head, making it turn around. Your eyes widened in fear and shock.

Sora, was being held by the curse. His head wrapped around completely by the curse's gigantic hand. He wasn't moving. You couldn't see his face but you could clearly tell that he was unconscious. His body was limp almost as if he's-

"LET GO OF HIM YOU BASTARD!"

The curse let out a low laugh, shaking Sora in the process. You were pissed. No, beyond that. You wanted to burn that thing to the ground. But you weren't equipped for battle at all, heck, you didn't even know how to fight. You couldn't help but be frozen there.

Move y/n!! You have to save him, dammit!! You gritted your teeth. You were scared after all. Was he okay? Is it crushing him? Is he still alive? A bead of cold sweat rolled down your temple as the many worries filled your mind.

You couldn't take it. It didn't matter how stupid the idea was. You sprinted towards the curse hoping to somehow land an attack on it.

"Wait, Hino! What are you doing!?" Megumi caught up to you and he froze in realization as to what you were going to do. Is this girl really going to attack that curse? "Hino, wait!!"

You managed to reach it and lift your right leg, slamming it right into the curse's abdomen. Right after, the curse teleported behind you. Your breath halted.

It launched its many limbs at you, stretching it out, aiming to grab you. You jumped and dodged a few of the strikes but a hand grabbed your ankle.

The curse pulled you up, hanging you in the air and then threw you to the ground. Your body bounced off the ground and crashed to a tree.

"GAKKHH!!" You felt a few bones crack and red liquid started to drip from your forehead.

"Hino!! Stand back!!"

Megumi rushed towards the curse and activated his cursed technique. "Divine Dogs!!" The two wolves you saw from the other day appeared from the shadows, they launched themselves towards the curse, latching onto its arms, tearing it.

"Hino! Are you okay!?" Megumi ran to you and put an arm behind you.

"We need to get you out of here-" "Sora..." you squeaked out. "He... I need to save him." "I know. Leave this to me. I'll handle it-"

"No! He's my responsibility! He... ugh..." You were bleeding badly, Megumi took notice of this.

"You can't." You gritted your teeth at what he said.
