Damage

Y/N POV
I woke up to seeing Armin crying over me but I couldn't hear him all I heard was a ringing noise and my head was pounding "Armin?" He smiled and hugged me and I could faintly hear him "Ok- you?" Was all I heard and I just nodded And I couldn't stop shaking, I could see it was sunset and Jean and Reiner were lying down both looked bloody "Armin.." I only now just realised talking was a hard task.. I tried sitting up but moving made my head hurt "Call help.." Armin ran to his flare bag and shot whatever flare he found hoping someone would find them and yet we heard nothing.. I felt myself passing out again and tried forcing myself to stay awake despite the pain, I couldn't leave Armin alone here. "Armin.. Armin here..." he came to me "Ye- yes? Are you ok- you hit your head on a rock and well, you lost a lot of blood..." I didn't give much of a reaction as I couldn't "Mhmm.." he realised no one was coming to get them and decided to try pick me up to move me to Jean and Reiner who were closer to some cover "Ow..!" I yelled just from moving a little bit "Oh.. sorry. Uhm how do I move you then..." suddenly the urge to pass out swept over me causing me to lose consciousness.

Time-skip to when you wake up Y/N POV
I awoke to being still outside yet in cover, I felt better yet my head still hurt and moving was difficult, I could move more than before but it still hurt. I saw Armin, Reiner and Jean talking around a map and I didn't want to interrupt so I stayed out looking around "hmm." I painfully moved my head to touch my head "OW..!" My yell caused them to look at me. "hm hi-" they all came to me and asked how I was doing "Ok, head hurt.." I still messed up in making a sentence but they still understood well, Armin spoke up "Well we figured out how to get back to the walls, and we want to go at night so the titans in the area don't bother us." I blinked as a response instead of talking, it was sunset so I knew we had to wait a long time "Is another day?" I managed to get a sentence out "Unfortunately yes.." I sighed "We wait long..." Reiner and Jean went to discuss things whilst Armin stayed with me "Armin..?" He looked at me "Yeah?" "We get home? Eren? When home..?" He looked like he was going to cry "Soon.. soon we'll be with them and we'll get you some help.." I nodded and feeling woozy and not knowing what was going on I decided to grab Armins hand "Warm hand.." Armin was blushing "Does hand holding make you comfortable Y/N?" I nodded "Yes mhmm.." "Sleep me.." Armin nodded and I went to sleep not long after he left to talk with the others.

Yet another time-skip to the walls Y/N POV
I woke up to being on a horse leaning on someone "Arrmin..?" "Y-yes you're awake, we are going back to the walls now.!" I hummed in response and I leaned more against Armin "Why Armin so warm..." Armin was going to say something when Jean spoke up "Almost at the walls guys!" I felt happy knowing I'm almost home with the rest of the survey corps.

Soon we got back home through the walls and Armin helped me into the building as Jean and Reiner went to get help and the commander, Armin sat me down on a chair "Nno leave Armin stay.." "I am.. I'm staying." I was going to say something when Hanji and Commander Erwin appeared to us "We thought you dead.." said Erwin to us all "We didn't see any signals you guys were alive but a miracle has brought you guys back. Hanji, please help Y/N to the infirmary." Hanji nodded "Armin you can carry him right?" He nodded and helped me up "Legs.. broken?" "No.. they're just- I'm not sure.." Armin stated "Hmm.." after a few minutes we reached the infirmary and I was placed on the bed "Armin stay... friend stay me.." Hanji looked at me sadly "Armin can't stay here right now, he has to go meet up with the commander about something.." I felt like crying but held in the tears "Ok.." i tried waving to Armin but my arm went only halfway up "See Armin later.." he smiled and left.

Armin POV
I don't want to leave him there.. if only the Titan... Annie didn't hit him so hard he wouldn't have these troubles.. I opened the door to commanders office "Commander." He looked up "Please, sit" I sat in front of him "So why am I here?" He sighed and looked up at me "If Hanji can't figure out what's wrong with Y/N and if she does but he can't recover... we might have to let him go from the survey corps.." I felt angry "he'll recover I know he will...!" I felt like trashing the room "Armin I know you're angry but it's the rules..." "can I leave and go see him? Now?" He nodded and I quickly made my way to the infirmary when Eren appeared "Armin! I tried forcing them to come find you! Is Y/N ok? Where is he...?" Isomer at Eren with tears in my eyes "He's not ok.. he's in the infirmary.." Eren looked down "We can go see him now.." I stated he instantly made his way there with me "Apparently if he can't recover then he might have to leave the survey corps.." Eren was clearly angry but kept it hidden as we just walked into the infirmary "Hey boys!" Yelled Hanji "I figured out the problem." I looked at her with eager eyes "He hit his head so hard he got severe brain damage that it also made his brain forget or shut down certain parts of his body so like the brain won't send signals to certain places and it will send messed up ones too." I broke down, Y/N had no reaction to the news as he didn't understand the depth of the situation "Is it permanent..?" I asked "Some will be, some won't." I hugged Y/N and Eren did so too "You'll be fine Y/N, i promise.." I didn't want to stop hugging him...but I did so anyway.. "Hanji, could the damage be... fatal? Life threatening?" She sighed "He could die or in his sleep go into a coma, if lucky it wouldn't happen and he would only sleep maximum a day.

Ahhh such a sad chapter. I'm gonna spoil the future, you do make a recovery with some permanent damage and also figure something out about someone. Not Armin but someone.
