During 7th Grade
"Fuck quick!" Jungkook dragged his friend to the school gate. Showing their tickets to the guard and got their wrist stamped. It's their intramurals and the whole school ground was full of booths, students and teachers.
Yugyeom and Jungkook mostly tried the game booths. Seniors were amazed by them as they almost win every games they prepared. Both of them were honoured to receive such compliments.
When they exited, the seniors immediately sent them farewells and told them that they're always welcome to try the booth again.
They decided to grab some snacks and stopped by a near food stall. They took burgers and iced tea while Yugyeom eyed someone. Jungkook tried to follow his eyes, only to spot a tree.
"Why are you looking at the tree? Are you planning to cut it once we're near Christmas?"
"What? No dumbo. I'm looking at Jungie"
"Who's Jungie?" Yugyeom secretly pointed at the curl-haired girl sitting beside her friend. Jungkook frowned while carefully study her, she looked like a year younger. "You like her?" Jungkook looked at his friend.
"Duh I mean who wouldn't? She's so beautiful and popular. She has a good voice too, like his cousin Jimin"
"Now who the hell is Jimin?"
"How can you not know them? You're so outdated! Jimin's that guy" he pointed towards the guy approaching Jungie.
Jungkook's eyes widened. He never expected to encounter someone so beautiful like an angel. "So beautiful" Jungkook subconsciously mumbled.
"I know right, Jungie is so beautiful" Said Yugyeom.
Jimin started to walk away making Jungkook panic, handing his food to Yugyeom. "Hey where are you going?!" Yugyeom called him but he got ignored.
Jungkook tried to follow Jimin but end up getting blocked by a senior. He looked up confusingly, "excuse me?"
"Why are you here? This booth is exclusively for students who bought the painting tickets last week" said the senior.
"Huh? wait but-.. Can I buy? Please please I really want to paint. Please"
"Hey kid this is not for doodles. You need to atleast know how to paint"
"I can! I promise you, please just let me in" Jungkook plead. The senior was about to scold him but another senior popped up. He was the senior from the game booth earlier.
"Oh hey kid, why are you here?"
"He-"
"I want to join the booth but he won't let me. I told him I know how to paint but he refuse to believe me. Please senior, help me" He pouted while cringing inside. The senior chuckled before patting his shoulder.
"Go ahead kid, I'll handle your ticket"
Jungkook beamed inside without a word leaving both seniors surprised. As soon as he reached inside, he immediately spotted the guy from earlier. Jimin.
He decided to sit not so close but not so far from him. The spot where he can see Jimin freely. A student entered the booth and began introducing herself. She told them to paint anything or anyone that inspire them.
Jungkook's eyes went directly to Jimin and a small smile formed in his lips. Thankfully he's sitting at the back, meaning he can draw his inspiration freely. Little did he know that some seniors at the back were looking forward to him after hearing the reason why's he there.
Everyone began painting and Jungkook kept on glancing at Jimin. His side profile makes him melt inside, liking the guy very much.
He took a deep breath and took the paint brush and started painting the guy. He started from the hair, to the jaw, to the chin, to the nose, to the glasses, to the eyes, and to every part of Jimin that he can see.
Everytime he look at Jimin, his heart skip a beat as he can see the determination from the others' eyes. He can't help but coo and giggle silently.
Some students started to raise their hands to signal that they had already finish their masterpiece. Seniors began checking and collecting the paintings, carefully putting it at the back of the booth.
Jungkook finished a little earlier than he expected, double checking if he painted Jimin beautifully. He smiled and looked at the other. He smiled at his painting too which made Jungkook wonder about his painting.
Jimin raised his hands, Jungkook panicked and raised his hands too. Seniors that are already eyeing him approached him and ruffled his hair. He looked back and gasped. Unfamiliar faces smiled at him and took his painting.
"Wait.." he stopped them. They looked at him confusingly.
"Can.. Can I keep it?"
Their eyes softened at how soft his voice is when he looked at the painting so they all nodded and promised to give him the painting as soon as the booth finish.
A few moments later, the senior from earlier clapped her hands to catch everyone's attention. "Great job everyone! That was very beautiful, your paintings will surely be hanged at the main area of the library. Gather up and we'll take a photo!" she cheered as all of them gathered up.
Jungkook made sure to stand next to Jimin. Although they both stand next to each other, he wished Jimin would atleast notice him. He sighed before looking at the camera and smile.
After the short photoshoot, everyone said their goodbyes to the seniors before leaving including Jimin. Jungkook walked up to the seniors and asked for his painting which they happily gave him.
"Your painting looks so professional! Why don't you join our club?"
"Um.. I'll think about it but.. can I have a copy of the photo too?" He shyly scratched his nape and the female seniors chuckled at his cuteness.
"Of course you can, your name is Jungkook right? If you want to paint or do arts, you're welcome to do it in our club" said the female senior and handed him the original polaroid instead.
"Thank you seniors" Jungkook smiled. The guy from the game booth patted his shoulders.
"Call us hyung and noona. You're our young buddy now! You'll be our newest dongsaeng, okay Jungkook?" he ruffled the younger's hair. Everyone laughed and agreed, Jungkook made new senior friends.
