"Are you alright?" The caring voice of Sirius whispered towards Remus as he took the latter's hand in his. "You seem troubled by something."

"It's nothing, don't worry about it," replied Remus with a comforting smile he knew wouldn't fool Sirius. The latter raised his eyebrow.

"I'll tell you after supper," sighed Remus.

The rest of the dinner was filled with awkward silence, concerned stares coming from Sirius, as well as knowing and quizzical ones from Lily and James respectively.

Once the two couples bid each other goodnight, they headed back to their respective vehicles.

"What's up with Remus?" The latter heard James ask Lily as they walked away.

"I'll tell you later," she had replied.

"What is up with you?" Finally asked Sirius, probably having overheard James and Lily.

Remus looked up to find Sirius worriedly looking at him.

"I, uh," said Remus, suddenly nervous.

"Well you see, remember how I told you I wanted to be an astronomer?" Said Remus, anxiously fidgeting with the rings he was wearing, the ones Sirius had gifted him.

"Yes..?" Replied Sirius, not quite getting where Remus was going with this.

"Well, a while back I applied for an astronomy scholarship at Beauxbatons, but I didn't think I would get it because of my poor marks in french but... since you helped me well..." Remus couldn't bring himself to finish that sentence. Thankfully, he didn't have to because Sirius seemed to have understood perfectly fine.

"That's great! I'm really happy for you!" Said Sirius, a sincere yet sad smile on his face.

"When are you leaving?" He then asked.

"Well, I haven't decided if I'm going yet, I wanted to talk to you about it first."

"Are you seriously considering not taking this opportunity?"

"Well, I don't know, maybe?"

"You told me this was your dream, Remus."

"Yeah but, I can find another way."

"Remus, the universe has given you this opportunity, you have to take it. I don't want to be the reason you don't." Remus looked up at him with a blurry vision. He launched himself in his arms.

"Thank you."

"How long will you be gone?"

"Five years maybe." Just saying it hurt him.

"I'll wait for you." Remus looked down at his boyfriend.

"You will?"

"Of course, I love you, Remus, you're my soulmate, and I know we'll get our happy ending one day."

"I love you too."
