I clung to Erens chest for protection. This shit IS NOT okay! I was now clutching his shoulder as he carried me to the living room and over to the back room where the furniture was. He sat down, me in lap, and started singing. I'm not a fucking baby so of coarse I squirmed and wiggled, but he only gripped me tighter. Giving up, I listened to his words. It was soothing, calm and warm.
"I remember tears streaming down your face when I said I'd never let you go. And all those shadows almost killed your light~"
He sang softly. I listened intensly cause it was beautiful. I felt my breathing even out and my heart slow down. I eventually closed my eyes and listened to the colors of the song. It was a glittering purple with light blue splotches here and there. I painted the back of my eyelids as I listened. His voice tasted as sweet as sugar, like caramel with a bit of chocolate. I have Lexical-Gustatory Synesthesia. Very rare. I listened.
"I remember you said, don't leave me here alone. All that's dead and gone and past and I~. Just close your eyes, the sun is going down.
You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now.

He hummed the music til his words spilled into my mouth like chocolate syrup, sweet and smooth. It was now a bold green I was seeing. I felt safe and relaxed.
"Hold on to this lo~ove! Even when the musics gone. Gone~.
Just close your eyes! The sun is going down. You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now.
Come morning light, You and I will be safe, and, sound~ sound. Aaaah~"
He carried on humming the rest of the song. I was seeing light red now, it sprinkled around and orange stripes appeared. I was tasting vanilla now. I felt the sides of my lips quirk up but barely. I was pleased and happy. I felt him start to rock me. I slipping away into a pit of warmth and comfort. My colors, and tastes had gone away and I was falling. Not in a bad way, no, but in harmony. I slept peacefully for the first time in awhile.
When I awoke, it was dark outside and I smelled something cooking. Eren was humming a new song but quietly, so all I got was a hint of strawberry in my mouth and a couple of white dots. eh.
I followed the smell to the kitchen where Eren was leaning over a huge pot. He was fidgety and muttering a one-sided conversation.
"I'm cooking for Levi, don't distract me! You're so annoying. Jesus christ Jean! "
He cursed quietly. I tugged his sleeve with one hand while I rubbed my eye with the other. He yelped and jumped in surprise. He gripped his chest where his heart sat and started chuckling in relief.
"Levi! You scared the ever livi-"
"Who's Jean?" I interrupted him. I can't say I wasn't the least bit jealous but this brat was the first brat that I've welcomed into my safety circle. I have issues I know.
"N-n-n-nob-body!" He looked down as if being ashamed of himself and turned back to cooking. I narrowed my eyes at the back of his head.
"Thank you." I whispered lightly behind him as I tugged his shirt again. He turned back to me smiling like a goof.
"For what?"
"Singing to me. Your voice tastes very sweet and looks like the rainbow." He looked utterly confused so I explained.
"I have Lexical-Gustatory Synesthesia. I taste and see music."
He didn't seem to mind it but he actually looked interested.
"What did my voice taste like?!" He hopped closer to me, face in mine smiling like a maniac.
I thought back to it.
"A variety of sweets, chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. Your voice was purple with blue and green. There was red as well as orange." He looked at me like he won the lottery.
"C-can we eat now? I'm starving, my stomach is eating itself." I grunted pushing him aside lightly.
"I went out while you were asleep to get some supplies. I had college savings but that doesn't matter much now so..." He trailed off reaching for the bowls I couldn't reach. Damn these big ass people.
"You can still go can't you? You're old enough." I furrowed my brows at him as he filled our bowls.
"No. I'm wanted." I caught on and decided not to push it any further.
We ate in silence. I ignored the occasional illusions. Maggets and worms in my food. The little asian girl crawling around on the ceiling. The man with a hockey mask standing outside our window. Blood in my glass of water.
I had lost my appetite and stood abruptly.
"Sing me to sleep again please." I quietly pleaded to Eren whom obligated happily. We cleaned up together and went back to the room I was in earlier today.
"Any songs you have in mind?" He raised his brows.
"The same from earlier." he nodded and scooted closer to me.
I tasted strawberries and peaches. Saw pink and teal.
"You and I are safe, and sound~"
