Kaylee's POV
Darkness, pain, and a pounding headache are what I come back to.
[What happened?] Sirena asks weakly.
[Why do you sound so weak?] I asked worried.
[I think they used wolfsbane on us.] She said.
[Hang in there please. Don't worry about healing me. Heal yourself first. I don't want to lose you.] I tell her.
[I couldn't do that.] She tries to argue weakly.
[Sirena you need to heal yourself first. The pack doctors can take care of me but chant take care of you.] I say.
[Fine.] She says, then cuts the link.
"You said she would wake up yesterday." Chad yells.
"No I said the wolfsbane would wear off yesterday. Now she should wake up any day." Dad said. Wait, Dad is here?
"She should be awake already!" Chad yells. I could hear the worry in his voice.
"Shhhh. I have a headache." I say quietly without opening my eyes.
"Kaylee?" Chad asks. I hear him run over to him.
I open my eyes and see his bloodshot eyes and tear stained cheeks. I lift my hand to put it on his cheek. He leans into my hand. "I'm sorry." I say quietly.
"For what?" He asks.
"For not keeping my promise." I say.
"I don't care about that. I just care that you came back to me." He says.
"Do you still have contact with Sirena?" Dad asks.
"Yes I told her to worry about healing herself not me." I say.
"Who's Sirena." Chad asked confused.
"Sirena is my wolf." I say. "Can I have water?"
Chad got up immediately and got a glass of water and a straw. He set it on the table and then helped me sit up. He then gave me the water.
"How long have I been out?" I ask after taking a drink.
"A little over two weeks." Dad said. I spit my water out.
"I've been out for two weeks?" I ask.
"Calm down." Chad says. He put his hand on my hand. I saw dad leave the room.
"How am I supposed to calm down when I just found out I've been unconscious for two weeks." I ask frantically. "I-" Chad cut me off by kissing me. My mind went blank.
"Just relax and let people care for you. That's how." He said after he pulled away.
"Thank you." I sigh contently.
I heard a knock on the door followed by a women coming in the room with a tray. "Chad I've brought you lun- Oh my look what we have here. Nice to finally see you awake my dear." She said in a motherly voice.
"Hello mother. Kaylee this is my mother. Mother as you know this is Kaylee, my mate." Chad introduced us.
"Nice to meet you." I say.
She handed Chad his food and then came and sat on the edge of the bed. "It's nice to finally meet my son's mate." She said.
"I'm sorry."
"How many times do I have to tell you, you don't have to be sorry." Chad said as he stuffed a chicken strip in his mouth. He handed me a bit of a chicken strip to me. "Eat, you need your strength back."
"I'll bring you some soup if you want." Chad's mother said.
"Can I walk to the kitchen? I need to stretch my legs." I ask. I'm fairly certain sitting in a bed for two weeks isn't good for legs.
"I'll help you down there. Mom can you get soup ready for her?" Chad asks.
"Sure. See you down there." She says then kisses my head and leaves the room.
I move the blanket off my legs and start to move them. I go my legs off the bed. I was so sore and everything hurt. I slowly got off the bed. My legs started to give way. I braced myself for the fall but I was caught before I hit the ground.
"I won't let you fall that easily." He said as he put me back on my feet.
We slowly made our way to the kitchen. I was two steps from the bottom of the stairs when I heard a crack. Pain shot out of my leg and I collapsed. No, my bones are weak. That can only mean one thing. I hear people talking but I can't focus on any of them. The darkness overtook me again.
