Chapter 2

I shifted a little as I felt myself being nudged awake. I thought I was in dreamland and ignored it.

'miss! Please wake up. We need to speak to you' a voice much closer to me broke me from my slumber and I gasped waking both peyton and Aiden in the process.

I look up to see four middle aged men. One who was stood a little further ahead of us gave a stern nod and crouched down to our level.

'miss-' he spoke reaching his hand out and instinctively I pulled back hiding peyton to my chest hoping that my racing heart would start calming down. Aiden crouched in front of us holding his arms wide like a barrier growling quietly at the young man.

'stay away from my mama! Don't even come near us!' I heard aiden yell and slowly began growling at the young man.

'hey kid. I can growl too. we only need to speak to your mama about why you are in our territory and then we will let you go alright?.' I pulled aiden back before they tried to hurt him.

'but this is just a lake and its not your territory' aiden argued.

'it is a lake but we recently brought this land so now you are in our territory.' The man explained emphasising our.

'I'm Joshua and I am the beta of this pack. You have been caught trespassing into our territory so we need to question you on why and how you got here. I understand you have children with you so please know that we mean no harm. We are the Triton moon pack and we are a very peaceful pack. I've contacted my Alpha and he will be questioning you soon so please come along with us. I hope you understand that miss?' he said.

I almost wanted to believe him but there was no way we could escape. I was tired of running. Maybe if I explained everything then they would be willing to let us go. I can't have Cameron terrorise another pack. We had no choice but to follow and so we did. A ten minute walk later and we found ourselves walking towards a small wooden cabin which was thankfully very warm. He directed us to the spare chairs and immediately gave us a blanket.

'thank you. And my name is Grace.' I spoke quietly and put peyton on adrien's lap wrapping the blanket tightly around them both.

We waited another couple of minutes until I really began to feel nervous. I knew whoever walked through that door was going to grill every last bit of information out of us and I had to do everything I could to protect my children. I could hear my heart beating rapidly against my chest and the annoying ringing sensation in my left ear and didn't even realise the Alpha of the pack come into the room and sit down opposite us.

Once I looked up my heart dropped straight to my stomach. Was this man my mate? I am a human so I have no idea what he is thinking but this is very much exactly the same feeling I had when I saw Daniel for the first time. I had to learn all about the mate bond but even with second chance mates, it was highly unlikely because he or she would just find someone themselves to form another bond with. I couldn't go through with this again and to possibly lose another mate again or if they turn out to be anything like Elijah. My eyes brimmed with tears and the image of the man in front of me blurred and before I knew it I heard a faint yell of my name before I slipped into darkness.

Alpha Leon POV

'Grace!' I heard my brother and the young boy yell.

My wolf instantly whimpering in worry for the woman who was limp in my brother's arms. I immediately got up and took her from Josh both taking in the sweet scent of my mate and being so close to her at the same time.

'Leon? Is she...' I heard josh ask to which I simply nodded.

'we'll talk later about this. I'm going to take her to my house along with the kids. And ask mum and dad to come to my place as well urgently.' I spoke gruffly standing up to my full height.

'where are you taking my mama?' I heard the young boy ask.

'I won't hurt you or your mama kid. You both will come with me to my house. Your mama needs a doctor too so my mum is going to take good care of her and give you both a check up too. is that alright with you?' I ask tentatively. This boy seems to hold some sort of domineering stare but I try to keep my gaze soft for them. He nods and proceeds to carry the sleeping small girl in his arms.

'and I'm not a kid. I'm aiden and im fifteen and I've been looking after mama and my peyton for years' he grumbled making me chuckle a little.

'you sure are' I chuckled.

hello everyone!

i haven't written in years so it might be super cringey but i just wanted to start writing again. i have never written a fantasy/werewolf type of book so i hope you will like this. the chapters are quite short as im in university so i will only be writing once i get the chance to.

i will really really really try to do an upload once a week but since im posting this in the middle of when my coursework is due *facepalm* the next chapter will be up next wednesday i hope *fingers crossed*
