Ch-1

I am standing in front of some of the most dreaded faces with a crumbled invitation card. Koalas aka my high school group stands before me including the jerk and his brother.

I would've never come to this wedding if it wasn't for my boss who received the horrendous news from some bastard. Kira says, it would be a nice exposure to attend the royal wedding of Avia, a small ancient island/ kingdom with beautiful places.

FLASHBACK

After a long tiring day, I retire to my apartment and find a shiny rose gold envelope resting near my threshold. The grandiose envelope contains a piece of paper that says:

"You are cordially invited to the wedding of PRINCE TREVOR KNIGHT and MIYA WHITE on 15 February 2021

The wedding will also be followed by the crowning of them as King and Queen of Avia

All expenses of travel will be paid by the king. You are requested to RSVP 15 days before the wedding and entry is invite only."

It also contains a handwritten note at the back:

"Hiya lil,

I know it is the last thing you wish to do but it would be great if you could attend this special occasion with me. I haven't seen you since college, I have saved you a seat and you do not need to worry about RSVPing.

-Trev"

It was a little to obvious that we haven't even spoken since college or to be more specific THE DAY. It was then I realized how easy it is to loose everything you believe in. To realize the people, you called your life weren't even what you thought they were.

How could they?! With tears beginning to form in my eyes, I crush the entire piece of shit and throw it in the dustbin.

My phone buzzes and I am about to reject the call when I notice the call is by Kira. She has a rare chirpiness in her voice and begins," Oh my dear Lord! Do I hear correct Lila? You have been invited to the wedding of the year. Oh, this is so good." But before I could tell her she drops the career bomb, "Company will be benefitted and I am sure you will get the promotion you have an eye on for so long. And don't worry about your shoots those days you can cover then up by posting vlogs on the 2-week wedding"

I have known Kira long enough to be sure that the rejection to my wedding is lead to a demotion. I think it would be best if I go there in the name of my carrer, it seems insensitive but I convince myself again by reminding what they did to me. So I pack my luggages- I carry extra luggages and clothes and things I know wouldn't need but since it is a so called 'Trev treat' I will just do it.

Reluctantly I pick up the goddamn invite and place it with my stuff.

END OF FLASHBACK

Trevor aka the jerk's brother and also a jerk smiles his billion dollar smile showing his white teeth bring a hand forward, " Am I dreaming or is it really you Lil?"

"It's Lily and no you are not dreaming but." I roll my eyes and continue in a barely audible tone, " though I wish I was."

" Just the same sassy Lily I knew", Trevor answers quickly correcting his mistake and not letting the awkwardness seep in. Well, he was successful as everybody laughs and Alan replies" Some things never change."

I look dead into the eyes of Chris, Trevor's brother and my high school sweetheart- the one who broke my heart into a million pieces on 'THE DAY' and reply' " Some things do." Mission accomplished because he runs away saying he needs pee causing Rick and Ryan to snort.
