CARRIE

Oh shit.

No.

No no no no no.

No.

This is not good.

I grab the handle and push the door open and jump out and land on a puddle soaking my new shoes. Shit. As if the day couldn't get worse. I go to the back of my car and notice steam coming out.

Fuck.

The thunder roars. It feels as though it's laughing at me. Mocking me. I know like it isn't ACTUALLY but like leave me alone. Let me wallow in self pity alone.

I then climb back in and grab my purse and grab my phone to call a tow truck but then I realize I don't have any money. I left my wallet at home. I have nothing. I could call a friend but that's no use. I'm 6 hours away and it's midnight. I doubt anyone would want to go that distance and loose 12 hours of sleep. But what other option do I have? Sit here and slowly rot away? I go to my contacts and try to call my aunt but right then and there my phone dies. And I also happened to forget my portable charger. Did I forget my brain too? Well I guess now my only option is to rot away.

I groan and slam my head on the wheel and accidentally on the honker. Great. Just great Carrie. You managed to get into Brooklyn State but you can't manage to get your shit together. God I could use a time machine. Just go back and bring money. Or at the very least your portable charger. And maybe not wear your nice shoes. Or-

And a knock on my window sends me crashing out my thoughts. I see a slender faced dark eyed boy in my window. I know normally this stuff would be creepy. And it is. But I'm desperate right now. I roll down my window.

"Car trouble?" he asked sweetly, a little nervous, but sweetly.

"Yes!" I say thankfully but then the paranoid and survival instincts kick in. "Wait. How did you know. Were you following me? Is this like a Edward Cullen type thing were the guy follows the girl around waiting to save her?" He looks like he wants to say something but it's choked back by giggles. I look at those sparkly dark eyes light up with amusement. I almost give in and let him save me but then snap out of it. Still creepy he just magically showed up. "Listen man just because you're really cute doesn't mean it's any less creepy. You don't get any pretty privilege"

"Actually he says umm I kinda saw the smoke coming out your car and I kinda saw from the window cause I work here..." he explains trying not to laugh. I blush with embarrassment. An apology bubbles to my lips but before I can speak he says, "but it's good to know you think I'm cute." And flashes me an adorable grin but I'm too busy dying inside to hear it. "

Oh my god I did NOT say that..." I say.

"Oh" he replies smugly, "you did"

I sink down in my seat drowning in my own embarrassment. "I'm sorry" I say.

"No worries," he says. "If I'm being honest it's a little flattering" he says flashing me a shy, close lipped,  smile.

"So do you want me to call a tow truck?"

"I don't really have the money for that,  I left my wallet at home" I explain.

"No worries I'll pay," he says.

"Do you want a ride?"

"Y-yeah. Thank you." I say and he flashes me that cute yet shy smile yet again. His smile despite a little awkward is enough to make me want to smile as well. And maybe I did. I admittedly wasn't really paying attention to that. All I could focus on was him. Maybe there was butterflies maybe there wasn't, but I think there  was. All I knew for sure was that I was completely and utterly enchanted.
