JEAN fluttered her eyes open to see that she wasn't in her own quarters. Instead, a familiar scenery came to view. She could easily recognize the off-white painting of the ceiling and the creme coloured wooden walls here in dawn winery after having spent plenty of time on this place over the years. Even if that was the case, her relationship with her previous superior is nothing more but just a casual arrangement that they had built over the years.

It was formed for two lonely souls to seek solace in one another in casual arrangements. But the hopeless romantic in her wished that there was more going on between them – that sex was not the only thing binding this relationship. However another part of her longed for his warmth and touch. She longed for him to feel her and fill himself with desire just like her.

She have always had a small crush on Diluc since he was still her boss. Her teenage self would fantasize about the image of her tangled up in his arms over and over again. She worked hard for the knights and earned her position and title herself earning a compliment from Diluc that made her go crazy as a teenager.

But when he left the knights so suddenly and without a word, she was speechless. She was filled with frustration, sorrow, regret and most importantly revenge. The moment she had seen the culprit behind the grand incident she immediantly took action and placed the dirty bastard inside the rails. And to her surprise, a few months after, he returned. He returned to everything including Jean but not to the knights.

She held a hand over her throbbing head as memories from last night started to fill her brain. She vividly remembers the image of her tangled up in his chest as he held her tightly, she smiled up at him. He was reading a book and Jean have never seened the man looked so at peace in his life. Her instincts got the best of her as she placed a gentle kiss on his small wrinkle underneath his eyes. His breath hitched from the sudden action. He stopped looking at the book on his lap and decided to face the blonde. He gave her a small smile and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. "Cheeky bastard"

His jawline was set with determination. How his eyes looked at the path ahead of him, he looked as if he just came from a romance novel she was reading.

She knew.

Jean knew that this was all that she needed. His strong arms around her, holding her up. a man who could go from absolute passion, to a fierce protector, to an affectionate and appreciative lover promptly after it all. Jean had once heard on a quote from one of her favorite authors that 'nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden change.' Would it all have been worth it even if she knew that she could have never change such a cruel and unavoidable fate called reality?

Her thoughts snapped out of her as she caught a familiar figure crossing its arms and leaning against the door frame. "You're awake." Jean let out a hearty laugh. "It seems i am." He placed a small smile that no one except Jean had seen and approached her. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine, it seems that the traveler is handling my workload for me." Jean smiled clearly loving the small break already. "You've been a good girl, you deserve it." Diluc placed a soft but tender kiss on her forehead. Jean's cheeks turned into a shade of pink after the compliment.

"I asked the maid to bring you some soup, It's past 9 in the evening." Diluc announced as he was unbuttoning his shirt to change into something more comfortable. "Did i really pass out for that long..?" Diluc shrugged. "You were exhausted." As he finished unbuttoning his shirt, Jean couldnt help but look at his finely refined six-toned abs. He was so perfect in her eyes, and his smile alone was enough to send her weak in the knees. She can't help but notice the scar on his torso that he got from sparring with Kaeya plenty of years ago.

It was one of the first scars she has ever treated and looking at it now, she can see she did not do a great job. There we're also other scars from his backside to his sides to whom she does not know the origin. She doesnt think she needs to be covering those scars all the time, she thinks its what completes him as a person. He harbors a naturally wild and fireous soul and his scars shows all his hardwork, though he disliked that.

"Let me know when you're done staring." He smirked as she turned her head away when she realized he noticed.  "You might want to change what you're wearing, some of your knight friends are coming to check on you but i won't let them stay long, I refuse to let any knight stay here for more than 30 minutes.. well except you." Jean's face was now fuming red in embarassment. She was wearing nothing but her undergarmets and a overgrown t-shirt she got from his closet.

"You're such a tease." Jean rolled her eyes which she doesn't normally do while she was fixing her appearance and placing a suitable attire on. Diluc could only laugh at her response. "You're cute when your mad, you know?" Jean rolled her eyes yet again.

Once she was done dressing up, he approached and her and ran his fingers through her hair, brushing a few strands that fell from her shoulder. "You look beautiful." He whispered before locking their lips together. It took 3 knocks on the door for them to seperate which Jean was embarassed. "I'll get it." Diluc announced clearly not happy about the interruption.

Once he opened the door, Klee ran to Jean's arms accompanied by Lisa, the traveler and Barbara. "Master Jean!" Klee shouted. "Oh Klee! It's good to see you!" The little elf continued hugging her so she decided to entertain the others.

"Why are you all here?" Jean asked.

"Well we heard you were staying at Master Diluc's so we wanted to see if you're okay. We certainly didn't mean interruption if you know what i mean." Lisa chuckled and flashed a wink at Diluc who just rolled his eyes in return.

Jean turned to Barbara who continued stuttering. "W-well i heard from Lisa you weren't f-feeling well so i bought you some healing grapes older si- i mean master Jean!" Barbara bowed and presented the basket of grapes in front of Jean who was taken aback. "Thank you, Barbara. I appreciate it." Jean gave her a small smile of gratitude which earned Barbara's utmost delight.

"Master Jean, why do you smell like Master Diluc?" Klee asked with a head tilt causing everyone in the room to go silent. Jean was officially having steam in her head while Diluc just shrugged. "Well you see Klee, Master Jean and Master Diluc we're doing some adult business." Lisa announced to try brighten the atmosphere.

Barbara and the traveler didn't get it at first but they caught on and the tension was driving them insane. "What adult business?" Klee questioned further embarassing Jean. "None of your business." Diluc opened the door for them with Klee still confused. Jean sighed now that the endless tormet was over. "Thank you."
