"if i could give my sister just one thing in life, it would be the ability to see herself through my eyes, only then would she realize how special she is to me"adriana listened for any noises, she rolled to her side and opened her eyes slowly and saw she was facing the back of the sofa.
leisurely sitting up from the sofa, she noticed a man sitting across the other sofa with his legs crossed as he seemed to be buried in some book.
the man looked unfamiliar to her, "adriana" the man says looking up from his book and setting it aside, the little girl tilted her head in curiosity.
who is he she thought, "happy birthday" the man says with a kind and genuine smile as he gave adriana a small silvery box with red bow on top.
the little girl ever received gifts from her father, till her mother ruins them.
confused, the little girl carefully unwrapped the giftbox revealing a black sparkling gold tone plated minnie pendant.
"pretty!" adriana exclaims, "just like you," alessandro softly says as he eyes her asking for permission to put the necklace on.
the little girl didn't know what was happening so she gave her necklace to the man, who went around her and brought the necklace in front of her.
"who are you" she asks as the man puts the necklace on, "i am your older brother." he responds she had only been 2 years old when he saw her last.
"brother?" she repeats, alessandro did his best to hide his emotions but failed miserably.
alessandro surprised little adriana as he picked her up and had her facing him, little adriana flinched at the sudden movement.
"i love you so much." he said laced with emotion to his voice, his baby sister was so young that he felt comfortable with showing his true emotions.
little adriana never heard anyone but her father say that to her. "i wuv you too!" she responds overwhelmed.
alessandro brought adriana close to him as he engulfs her in a hug while giving kisses at the top of her head.
adriana couldn't understand the immense feeling of being shown affection, but she accepted silently.
alessandro notices his baby sister's confusion, "shall we give you a bath?" he asks kindly while placing her to the ground, he wanted to hold her forever in his arms but knew better.
little adriana didn't like baths, it was where her mother makes her breathe under cold water for 3 minutes.
"no like baths" she says scared, "bubba will help you." alessandro insists, she hesitated but didn't have a choice and anticipated for the cold water.
alessandro held his sister's left hand softly as he guided her up the stairs, adriana looked around and was in awe at the pictures on the walls.
the two arrived at the bathroom and it was enormous, big as her room back home, then it occurred to the little girl, 'where was she?'
"adria, do you know how to clean yourself?" alessandro questions, then the little girl begins to cry.
