Mirha's POV:
I changed into the bridal dress, my fingers trembling as I wiped away the tears that wouldn't stop falling. My heart felt unbearably heavy. Why is it always me who has to suffer like this? Why do I have to endure so much pain? I thought of Arham Bhai, I knew that he hated me. How can I live with someone who doesn't even want to look at me, let alone care for me? All I ever wanted was a life partner who would love me, who would make me feel cherished, but that dream had shattered today, leaving me empty inside.
Even though I was relieved that I could do something for Taya Abbu, I couldn't stop worrying about him. He looked so broken, so lost. How will he take care of himself after everything that has happened? The thought of leaving him behind in this state was tearing me apart. My whole world had turned upside down, and I didn't know how to make sense of anything anymore.
A soft knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. I wiped my face quickly, unlocking the door to let Saba Appi and Anum inside. They walked in with sad smiles, and Saba Appi immediately pulled me into a comforting hug. Her warmth and kindness soothed me in a way I desperately needed, and the moment she wrapped her arms around me, I broke down completely. The tears I had been holding back came pouring out as I sobbed into her shoulder. She guided me to sit on the bed, while Anum sat beside me and held my hand gently.
"Mirha, please stop crying. You'll make yourself sick if you go on like this," Saba Appi said softly, brushing my hair back from my tear-streaked face. Her voice was filled with love, but I couldn't stop the sobs from escaping.
"Why, Saba Appi? Why did all of this have to happen to me?" I choked out between hiccups, my voice trembling with grief. "Why does it feel like my whole life is falling apart?"
Saba Appi looked at me with sad but understanding eyes. "Mirha, maybe this is written in your fate... in Arham's fate. Maybe Allah has brought you together for a reason we don't understand yet," she said, her voice calm and filled with hope. She wiped away my tears with gentle hands. "Let's hope for the best, and trust that things will get better, even if it doesn't feel like it right now."
Her words didn't take away the pain I felt, but they gave me a small thread of hope to hold onto. Saba Appi and Anum helped me get ready, fixing my dress and arranging my hair as they prepared me for the next chapter of my life. My heart still felt heavy, but deep down, I knew I had to face what was coming. Even if it wasn't what I wanted, I had no choice but to keep moving forward.
Mirha's Look
"MashAllah, you look beautiful. May Allah protect you from all evil eyes," Saba Appi said, her voice filled with warmth. But I couldn't muster the strength to look up or respond. My heart was too heavy, the weight of what was happening pressing down on me, suffocating me from the inside.
