The ball was a blur behind them now. The faint buzz of clinking glasses and whispered gossip was quickly replaced by the silence of the night, broken only by the soft crunch of gravel beneath their feet as Akabane led [Y/n] down the dimly lit street.
She hadn't said a word since her breakdown earlier. Her eyes were hollow and distant. The crisp night air bit at her skin, but it wasn't enough to numb the turmoil raging inside her.
