2. Pain in the ass

We ditched two police sirens on our way out.

Our next stop was a nightclub in heart of Valbridge. It was now 3AM by the looks of it, things would now be rounding up at Nico's. But better late than never. With our fake IDs, we entered the club. Riley held my hands as we trailed up to the bar for drinks. Kai secured us a booth whereas Wellie and Juliet were already rocking eachother in the dance floor. Today was Saturday thus the last day of the week before school began fully on Monday as seniors. That thought alone had me groaning.

I slushed on the swival bar tool and Riley occupied the one closest to me.

"I'm tired." I told Riley.

He drummed his hands on the counter. "We won't stay long."

I srunch my nose. "You smell."

He sniffed his dress. "That's not a nice thing to say, Maeve."

"I mean you smell like gasoline. Did the fuel get your dress somewhere?" I clearified.

"We better hurry then. After a couple of drinks, I'll drop you home."

The bartender rose a brow at us and Riley ordered.

We carried our drinks to the booth. Only that Kai wasn't sitting alone. Two other girls had joined him. And from the fake color of their hair, I knew who they were. I wondered how Kai was breathing in their presence. I could sense the strong, pungent smell of their perfumes from this far. My mood darkened as we intched closer.

"Maaaaeveeee doll. Oh my goth! You are now so tan." Beatrice chirped with phony enuthasim. "Isn't she, E?" Bea green eyes sparked as she asked Enna.

Enna waved Bea off as though Bea had said the most rediculous thing she has ever heard. "She looks pale to me. Is it just me or did her ass became flatter?"

Enna was sitting opposite Kai who was busy scrolling his phone. I sat beside Enna and Riley sat beside Bea. I frowned at our sitting position.

Bea eyed me, garging my reaction. I gave her nothing. I sipped on my drink.

Kai and Riley excussed themselves and walked off.

"Dumbasses." I muttered, glaring holes at the back of Kai and Riley's head. How dare them leave me with these satans.

After a breathe of sweet, precious silence, Bea cleared her throat.

"Ever since you posted your new look on Instagram, I and Enna have been meaning to tell you this. In person. Cos saying it behind your back will be gossip. And we are beneath that. Aren't we, E?"

"Uh huh." Enna absentmindedly replied, furiously typing a message in her phone.

"The nose ring doesn't fit you. It only made you look like castrated cattle. The pink hair is a joke right? Right now, I am trying not to laugh hard at how ridicious you look. If I were you I would go back to blond or just save everyone the horror and sheave off my hair."

"Ladies. Is it body shaming night?" I asked.

"The truth hurts, sweetie." Bea said.

"Why isn't anyone telling the truth why the air around this table smells like poison and death?" Juliet asked as she sits beside me. Damn she's sweaty.

"That's because your nose job is beginning to wear off, honey. Maybe it's a sign you book a new doctors appointment. Oh I remember. That's not possible. You can't afford it. Not anymore. So sad your druggie mom squandered what's left of your trustfund. From grace to grass must suck really hard." Enna said flipping her ginger hair from her face. Juliet's hands clenched to a fist. Enna rolled her eyes and continued. "Maybe if you suck Wellie's dick hard enough, he might take pity on your soul and help you fix your nose."
