Class went by quickly, as usual. I attempted to keep from looking at Luke throughout the class, but it was just too hard. He is just so interesting and I want to know more about him. However, I assume that having all of my classes with him for the rest of the year will solve part of the mystery that is Luke Maddox.
I began walking out of the classroom when I realized that I was suppose to show Luke around.
"Shit," I mutter to myself as I turn on my heel to find Luke.
Once I turned around, I was just inches from the curly haired boy I was just going to search for.
"Hey now, you don't need to use that language." He said with a chuckle.
"Well I wouldn't have if I didn't have to show you around everywhere." I said a bit harsher than I wanted to.
"Ouch, someone is in a bad mood."
"Well yeah, I had a shit start to my day and now I have to spend the rest of it with some guy I know nothing about." I don't know why I am being so mean to him, but something about him sparks a part of me I have been trying to forget about.
"Well, how about I tell you a bit about myself, yeah?"
I nod in agreement, giving him a chance.
"Alright, well, I was born in Michigan and lived there until I was about 9, then that's when my mom and dad split up and my mom decided to take my sister and I to Pennsylvania, and I lived there ever since."
"So, why did you just now move to Gresham?" I asked curiously.
"We'll leave that story for another time." He said smirking, but his eyes said something else.
We made it to our next class and chatted a bit throughout it. I learned that his sister's name is Lily, and she's a couple years older than him. He told me that he really likes music, the outdoors, and animals. He mentioned that he also wants to go to Michigan State University for Vet school after this year.
Honestly, I never would have pegged Luke as the type of guy that would like animals, let alone want to work with them for the rest of his life, but hey, never judge a book by it's cover right?
The next two classes flew by quicker than usual and it was finally time for lunch. Good thing too, because I am starving. That McMuffin this morning did not do much for me.
Luke kinda just followed me around like a little puppy, trying to take in this unnecessarily large school. I'll admit, it's a bit overwhelming at first.
"So, where's the lunch room?" He asked, obviously as hungry as I am.
"It's just past the office to the left, but we're not going there. Well, actually I'm not, I don't know about you." I responded honestly. The school food is utter garbage, and I wouldn't eat it if my life depended on it.
"Well, I know absolutely no one but you, so I am not about to go sit and eat lunch alone."
"Alright, then I will take you to my favorite place to grab lunch, I think you'll like it." I said as we walked out of the school to my car.
The rain had stopped thankfully. I hate driving in the rain. It's just too scary.
The drive to my favorite little diner was quick and pretty quiet. The only sound was my soft music playing in the background.
"Nicholas's Diner?" He asks quizzically.
"Yeah! It's been my favorite since I was little, and it's nice that it's just around the corner from school. I come here probably too much for my own good." I say while walking to the doors of the restaurant.
We sit in the usual booth making small talk until someone comes to take our order.
Soon enough though, we order and get our food.
"Holy shit!" Luke says with a mouth full of food, "I so understand why this is your favorite. This is fucking great!"
I laugh at his astonishment at this amazing food. "Hey now, you don't need to use that language." I mock, trying to sound as much like he did earlier when he said the same thing to me.
"I'm sorry but this is just fantastic." He says wiping his mouth, but still going back for more. "So, now that I've told you a bit about myself, it's your turn."
"Alright," I huff. "If I have to."
"I was born and raised right here in Gresham. Never even moved houses. My mom and dad are still together and I'm an only child. I'm a huge music geek. I spend most of my time writing or playing music. I play piano, guitar, and ukulele, but I've never taken a single music lesson in my life."
"Impressive Chris... I don't know your last name." Luke says blushing.
I giggle a bit, "My bad. It's Wescott."
"Well, very impressive Ms.Wescott. Maybe someday we can get together and play some music, because I too play a few instruments."
"I may just take you up on that offer." I respond as I hear the door ding indicating someone else has come in. I don't pay much mind because my back is to the door and I'm also too caught up in conversation with my new friend.
"It's been awhile since I've played, so go easy on me, alright?"
"Maybe we'll s-" I don't finish my sentence because I hear a voice I had never wanted to hear again.
A/N: Hey! I just started writing this again. It's been almost a year since I wrote and I am so sorry! I am going to for sure keep up on this though.
I am so pumped about this story, it's is going to be so great!
Comment what you think so far. :)
Love you guys! <3
