The crisp wind of early autumn brushed through Rayn's hair. Her blonde hair was thin and loose. The girl's bright blue eyes were the only thing shining on that wet day in the capital of Lithuania. Rayn missed her old home. She missed Kai, her best friend. She missed her old school. She missed her dad. Her mother told her it would be a new start. I suppose she never said it would be fun.
Rayn woke up to her Great Dane breathing in her face.
"Arrow! Bad girl, get off the bed." Rayn commanded.
She gently pushed the dog away and sat up, looking at Arrow now on the floor. Rayn was always in a bad mood, and always angry at her dog. Even though she seemed to not like Arrow, deep down she loved her. The main reason for that was because she was the only thing left after the move.
Rayn got into her school uniform. She was not ready for school. First of all, she did not want to meet new people. Second, no people at the school speak English! Well, she did know some Lithuanian. Her grandma was Lithuanian. Before she died she taught Rayn some of the language.
"Rayn! The bus is here!!" her mother yelled
"I'm putting on my shoes!" Rayn did not want to be late to the first day of school.
Not only was it the first day of a new school, it was also the first day of high school.
"Sveiki!" one of the teachers said to her. (Sveiki means hello in English)
She walked on. She did not have time to respond, the bell was about to ring. Rayn got to her first class just in time. It was math. When she got to class, she found out there were a few other English-speaking students. Half the time she had to use google translate in class to understand what the teacher was saying. Her mother said soon she will get a private teacher to learn Lithuanian.

It was the last class, finally. It was her Chemistry class. There were a few English-speaking students, just like her first class. When it was time for attendance the teacher called her name.
"Ĉia" Rayn said quite, but loud enough for everyone to hear. (Ĉia means here in English)
"Rayn?! What kind of name is that!" one boy shouted.
The boy was obviously from America like Rayn. He had no accent and spoke perfect English.
"Her parents must have really hated her!" one boy added
At first, Rayn was not offended by the boys, but as soon as the second boy talked about her parents hating her, it got to her. Rayn knew the bully's "joke" was right. Her father never cared for her, or her mom. That's the reason they moved. Rayn felt even her mom did not like her much. While all these thoughts ran through her head, she did not even realize tears were flooding down her face.
"Haha! Look she is crying!" the boys laughed
The teacher just stood there. He did not know much English, but knew Rayn was upset by the boys' remarks.
"Wait look outside! It started raining as soon as Rayn started crying. It's kind of ironic." one random girl said. She still had an accent.
The teacher yelled at the boys for a few minutes, and then went to Rayn.
"Ar tau viskas gerai?" the teacher asked. (Ar tau viskas gerai means are you okay in English.)
"Taip." Rayn said without looking at the teacher. (Taip means yes in English)
She stopped crying and the rain went away. Only one girl notices. It was the girl who first saw that the rain started when Rayn cried. Her name was Della. She had short brown hair and green eyes. She knew some English, but was fluent in Lithuanian.
