There wasn't anything we could've done. We were all angry and upset; them more than me. I've never thought I'd see Natasha cry, didn't know she was so close to Fury.
We couldn't trust anyone. S.H.I.E.L.D was compromised and Steve didn't know anyone who didn't work for them except me.
I went with Steve everywhere, didn't leave his side.
He was having a conversation with some guy named Alexander Pierce, there was something off about him. I didn't say a word for the entire conversation between the two men in the room until they were finished.
"Mudrust." Steve said my name and I followed him outside, giving Mr. Pierce a slight nod.
"I don't like this, Steve." We got in the elevator and he looked outside the glass windows.
"Operations Control." Steve commanded before the doors closed.
"Forensics." One of the guys from the STRIKE team commanded letting the doors close after a few of his men got in until there was no room in the tiny travel box. "Cap. Mudrust." I gave the soldier a dirty look as Steve turned around.
"Rumlow."
They exchanged a few words and very subtlety Steve nudged my arm. I looked over at him with furrows brows and he signaled with his eyes the soldiers who had their hands gripped on their holster guns. Fifteen against two; those were not good odds.
"Before we get started, does anyone wants to get out?" Steve asked the personnel and no one moved. I sighed exhausted and expecting every move of every men surrounding me.
They all started attacking us, it was such a closed space but we had to stay alive. Steve was getting electrocuted which I found stupid to carry a weapon that runs in electricity while I was there.
"I'm sorry guys but this isn't personal." Rumlow said before attacking Steve and me knocking him out from behind.
"It kinda feels personal." Steve said to the unconscious man on the floor.
The doors opened and there were soldiers pointing their guns at us. We had nowhere to go, or so they thought.
"You trust me?" He nodded. I grabbed his hand and jumped out of the elevator landing on the main entrance of the Triskelion.
"Was that really necessary?"
"Did you have any other ideas?" He didn't say anything and led me to his parked bike. He didn't have to give me orders to get with him. A Quinjet started firing and I summoned a little thunder and took the ship out.

Our first stop after our little fight with S.H.I.E.L.D was the hospital. Steve needed something he left there, but instead we ran into a Russian agent.
"I know who killed Fury." She said. "Five years ago I was on a mission. Someone shot me, the bullet went straight through me." She looked at both of us. "The Winter Soldier. I didn't see him but I know he was there."
"So, he's a ghost story." Steve said disappointed.
"Why did Fury give you this? What's in it?" Natasha pulled out of her pocket a tiny metal device.
"I don't know." Steve pushed her against the wall and she grunted. "I only pretend I know everything, Rogers."
"Well, where can we find out what's in that device?" I finally spoke and they both looked at me.
We followed Natasha outside the hospital to a car and we drove for a couple of minutes to a shopping mall, we had to be very careful because the three of us were fugitives now, well, me not so much, but them, they betrayed their country. We all had disguises, including me, I was wearing jeans, white sneakers a white top and a navy blue baseball hat to blend in with the regular humans. I understood a grand variety of human stuff, which is why it confused me when we entered a stored called apple and didn't sell any type of fruit, not even apples, they sold technology, boring technology. Natasha walked directly to a computer and plugged the device from earlier.
"How long do we have?" Steve looked around the place.
"Nine minutes...now." She answered as the moment she clicked on the screen.
"Hi there, can I help you with something?" A blonde guy with large hair and glasses asked us, he seemed to work there.
"Hi." Natasha's voice tone change dramatically. "We are looking for places to throw a bachelorette." She put an arm around me. "These two are getting married." Steve and I looked and each other and I intertwined my fingers with him.
"So excited to be marrying this gorgeous man." I smiled and the computer pinged.
"New Jersey." Steve read out loud.
"Amazing strip clubs, gotta take advantage of my last night as a single woman." I joked.
"Heeeey..." The guy looked intensely at Steve. "I have the same glasses."
"Oh my God, twins." Natasha said and we got out of there pretty fast, we were running out of time. "Okay, meet me outside in ten." She left me and Steve alone.
Steve grabbed my arm and dragged me along the crowded space. "I count 3 east and 2 north." I notice the men walking to us.
"Put your arm around me and laugh at something I said."
"What?" He does it as soon as he realizes the bad guys are close to us.
We go to the escalator and I see Rumlow. I'm one step below Steve so I turn around to look up at him. "I read that public displays of affection make people really uncomfortable."
"Yes, they do."
I pull him by the neck to create an uncomfortable situation for us and for everyone that might be looking at us. He hunches to kiss me back.
"Are you uncomfortable?"
"Well, I wouldn't say that." He cleared his throat and hurried outside to meet Natasha with a pickup truck.
"Get in losers, we're running away." She sat on the passenger seat letting Steve take the wheel and I hoped in the back.
