Chapter 2- who is she?

Carlos P.O.V

I was hugging Lexi since she is crying, and suddenly I feel her go limp.

I shook her, but she didn't wake up.

"She passed out from exhaustion. Take her to your room" Diego said and I nodded

I picked up Lexi bridal style and took her to my room. I put her under the covers and went back downstairs and went into Diego's office.

Diego was sitting at his desk doing work, while drinking

"I can't believe they would do that to her. What kind of family would abandon their child" I asked

"A bad family" Diego said as he took a sip of whiskey

"I never should've let her go back to her family. I should have stopped her" I said and punched a wall and screamed

"Carlos. Calm down. Everything that happened to Lexi only made her stronger. She will come out of this stronger then ever before, but if she does fall we will be their for her to catch her" Diego said and I nodded

Diego poured me a drink and I gladly accepted

"Damn right. I'm never letting her fall" I said and took a sip of my drink

"Why is she here anyway?" I asked

"She called me last week saying if she could come stay with me. I said yes, but I asked her why. She said she left home. On the phone her voice sounded so sad and broken. I have never heard her voice that broken, it sounded like she had given up. I never knew why she ran away" Diego said

"How could they do that to her. You know all she ever wanted was a family that loved her no matter what and she thought this was it. She always talked about her family. Apparently they didn't love her as much as she loved them. I know she could never hate them, but right now she should hate them." I said and Diego agreed

"Lexi could never hate her family, no matter what" Diego said and I nodded.

We just sat in his office in quiet trying to process what Lexi told us, suddenly my stomach growled

"I'm starving" I randomly said looking at Diego. He only raised his eyebrows at me

"What do you want me to do about it. Get up and make food if you are hungry" Diego said and I held my hand Over my heart which only made Diego roll his eyes

"Get out" Diego said and I laughed

I got up and went to the kitchen where I saw Amelia sitting down eating . (Amelia is Diego's PREGNANT Girlfriend)

"Hey Amelia" I said while looking at her plate

"Hello Carlos. And no there isn't anymore food. You will have to make some" she said which made me groan

"Ok. It's fine. I will just microwave Mac and cheese" I said which made Amelia laugh

"You are such a little kid. Anyway who was that girl who was in the living room" Amelia said

"Oh that's Lexi. She is the other leader of the mafia. She is like Diego's daughter. She is going to be living with us" I said and amelias eyes light up which made me chuckle

"You mean that girl was Lexi. The Lexi you and Diego don't shut up about. Oh my god. I will have a girl to chat with" Amelia squealed.

"Lia calm down. She need time alone before we can introduce her to you. She is sad right now and needs time to fix herself" I said

"Fine" she said while crossing her arms which made me laugh

"I'm going to sleep Goodnight" she said
