Bayley
The rest of the night was great and Louise enjoyed herself too, tiring herself out in the process so we actually got a full night of sleep last night. I sit up in bed with a coffee in my hands and my eyes drift to the engagement ring sitting on my finger, Finn is still knocked out alongside me so I carefully plant a kiss on his cheek before I make my way into Louises nursery. She's clinging onto the crib wide awake when I walk into her room, I scoop her up into my arms and I carry her downstairs retrieving my laptop from the hallway on the way downstairs.

I take off my top and I let her latch on as I grab my laptop, switching it on. I'm going to apply for the adoption forms this morning, hopefully I'll have them sorted before Finn wakes up so it could be a nice surprise for him. I go onto the civil centre website and I see the adoption forms straight away, I click onto them and I type in all of Louises details and her birth certificate appears on the screen. 'Louise Pamela Martinez, born to Bayley Martinez on the 16th of June 2020.' I had to answer a few questions about why she was being adopted and who she was being adopted by and I was now sitting and waiting for them to call me to process my request.

Before they actually rung me, I managed to finish feeding Louise, burp her and go change my shirt because she was sick on it but then suddenly my phone started to ring in my hand and I answered it with nerves heavy in my chest. "Hello." I walked through my house, sitting down on my sofa with my open laptop on my lap. "Is this Bayley Martinez speaking?"

"Yep."

"We've called you today to inquire about a request for adoption forms, when asked you said you wanted these forms for a partner who wanted to adopt your daughter so he could officially be her dad, is that right?"

"Yeah thats right."

"Have you received the dad's signature so we can move on with the process."

"No, but he's never been in the picture so I would have no way of contacting him. Also he's not on the birth certificate, so legally he has no right to my child."

"Alright you're right, well you would be if you weren't speaking to James Burnard right now." I felt my mouth go dry, I thought his voice sounded familiar and now I know why. "I'm not giving any signature for anyone to adopt my daughter." He barked down the line and I felt paralysed. "You have no right to her! I'll just call a different civil centre and they can sort out the adoption, she's not your daughter James." I bit back, just wanting this to be over. "They won't let him adopt her because she is mine and now the biological dad is back in the picture, don't you think I researched this, Bayley you really don't know me anymore, I'm a changed man." I scoffed, my anger boiling. "A changed man who walked out on his girlfriend after she almost lost our child, you lost every right to her that day. If you wanted her to be our daughter you should've been there when I went into labour 8 weeks early, when I had to spend 8 weeks watching my daughter fight for her life when there where absolutely nothing I could've done, you would've been there when she couldn't sleep and I couldn't take it anymore, you would've been there!" I cried out to him and he had nothing to say. "You know I'm right James so just back off and let my partner adopt Louise, you missed your chance to step up to be a dad. Louise doesn't even know who you are and she never will because you gave her up and for once in my life I'm finally happy, just do the right thing." The line went dead and I would've screamed if Finn wasn't sleeping upstairs.

I looked at my laptop and I went to slam it shut when a notification appeared on screen. "Congratulations your request for an adoption has been accepted, Finn Balor will be now registered as Louises dad. You may now print out the adoption certificate!" I felt myself getting upset, for the first time in his life James did the right thing and he finally let me go. I sent the certificate off to the printer and I whispered. "Thank you..." I heard the printer which is when Finn came downstairs and I think he could see that I was crying. "Hey whats happened?" He said softly as he approached me, I slammed my laptop shut and I shrugged him off. "I'll explain in a minute, let me just go grab something from the printer." I climbed free and I ran down to the printer, quickly grabbing the adoption form and tearing up again of seeing Finn's name next to mine, both of us now her parents. "I did something." I said to him as I re-entered the living room, his face looked puzzled as he cross examined me. "It's nothing bad, well unless you call being the official father of my daughter a bad thing?" His eyes went like saucers as I handed him the certificate, he stood up from his place on the sofa and he met my lips with a hot kiss. "She should be Louise Balor now." Finn joked and I just kissed him again, pulling him on top of me so my back was lying against the sofa. "Dream on." I wrapped my legs around his waist and my hands trialed down his incredibly toned abs, as his hands landed on my face, pulling me up to kiss me with more determination, he was trying to bed me and I was fully up for it. "Louise will be alright for five minutes right?" Finn asked and I just slammed my lips back onto his. "Let's finish this upstairs." He lifted me up into my arms and I started to bite at his skin. "Yes let's..."
