Justin's POV

It took 30 minutes of dashing through the woods, jumping and dodging while at full speed before my father slowed down. Mason only a few feet behind him and coming to a halt at his side. Raising his hand and lowering himself down to cover behind the bushes, signalling for everyone behind to slow down and keep themselves covered.

With Troy on my heels, we slowed and inched closer to Mason and my father. Keeping our heads down. It took me a moment before realising the scent around us. It made my nose itch, as that thought came Troy sneezed making his fur fuzz up.

If I wasn't so irritated and occupied by the strange odour, I would have laughed. But my father looked back at the sound and let a low growl leave his throat before his voice came through the pack bond.

'Try to keep as quiet as possible, these wolves are nothing to underestimate and could be lurking, watching us at this very moment. Even I am surprised we got this close without an ambush,'

Troy gulped beside me, his ears falling in apology but his eyes darting around us as if expecting the ambush to happen at any moment. 'What's the plan?'

I spoke before anyone else could add their two cents. My father's gaze meeting mine before darting around, seeking out any and all movements around us as he answered, "I trust the Elite team to move in first, surround the perimeter and make way for us to infiltrate. Mason will lead the way, I will have our backs. Justin is to stay on Mason's tail the same to Troy, who will follow behind. If any one is to come into contact with another wolf, kill. And do it as quickly as you can. Do not try to have mercy, because I promise you they will not share the sentiment."

Without the need to continue, as my father finished the Elite wolves were gone. Each one of them dissapearing into the surrounding woods and even using the darkening skies to their advantage to blend and go unseen.

"As soon as we have Baker in sight, Justin and Troy, you are to get him out of harms way. If you know of a safer place than the pack, I suggest you go there. Move fast, if you can out run them do so. Do not engage,"

Mason's voice came through our minds without his eyes moving back toward us, rather keeping them glued forward and aware. A bare minute after he went quiet did he rise up and signalled us to follow.

I quickly fell in line behind him, keeping my head low and avoiding any obstacles or noise hazards. Hoping that Troy followed the lead.

We moved past a line of trees to see a dusty old cabin a few miles ahead, surrounded by foilage and overgrown weeds. Perfect for someone to hide in. So I kept my eyes darting around the overgrowth for any movement at all, even the slight breeze grazing at the weeds caught my attention.

Relying on Mason to have his gaze carefully around the cabin itself. Though it was difficult to see inside as all the windows were perfectly boarded up, those planks looking a few years newer than the rest of the run down building.

Mason moved slowly, keeping himself as low as he could between the weeds, and I did the same though I was pretty sure my redish fur stood a little out amongst the green and brown foilage. Hoping that Troy followed the lead as he would get the best coverage from the weeds him being slightly smaller than the rest of us.

Once we got close to the cabin Mason slowly pressed against the crumbling wall, leaning his ear to the planks. I moved a bit to the side next to him only moving my eyes from surveing the weeds to look at him to see if he heard anything inside.

When those periwinkle eyes narrowed and his brows furrowed I knew there was someone inside there. But before I could ask or react I heard a scream and a black blur flew past me around the cabin and my father barking behind us.
