Kira was in the kitchen making Mary some breakfast. Mary was still in bed as she hadn't got a good sleep in 2 days. Kira was making some sweet waffles with maple syrup and she walked into the bedroom quietly trying not to wake up Mary but she was already awake. She rubbed her eyes to see Kira standing at the door with breakfast for her. She smiled at her and thanked her. "Thank you, i havent eaten in a while." Mary explained. Kira nodded and walked out the room. "Kira, wait. Do you mind staying in here with me i dont want to be alone." She asked. "Of course. I'll stay with you." Kira answered. She sat on the bed next to Mary as they both ate their breakfast. Mary leant her head on Kira's shoulder and closed her eyes. "I know we haven't known each other for a long time Kira but I just want to say thank you. Like, you were there for me when i was at my lowest. I lost all my family and my home and you took me into your home and you make me feel.. loved." Mary explained. Kira looked at her and smiled. "It's honestly no problem at all. I'm actually glad i met you. You have made me happier than i have been in a while. My mother and my family abandoned me and made me fight in a war i didnt want to be involved in. They despised me doing the one thing that made me happy. Singing. I love music and singing but i cant do anything without being looked at like im weird or just worthless. Then i met you in that forest and i had this feeling and it was a good feeling. It was love. I know we haven't known each other long but i love you Mary." Kira explained. Mary sat there and i looked her in the eyes. "I love you too Kira.". They both smiled at each other and hugged each other so tight like they didn't feel anything but happiness. They made each other so happy and they had only met a couple of days ago. They slowly backed away and Kira suggested that they go into the forest for a little walk. Mary agreed as it would do them some good. They grabbed a blanket and some food so they could sit down and eat . They went a bit far into the forest but Kira knew her way around so they were in no sort of danger. Mary helped lay out the blanket and the food. Kira pulled out some small tealight candles from her bag with a lighter. This made Mary's smile beam. Kira lit up the candles even though it was daytime. She tried to make it look good for Mary so she could keep her positive after all that's happened. They both led down on the blanket and looked up at the sky and it was all quiet and peaceful. They were surrounded by flowers and trees, the perfect setting. They started talking about random things and made each other laugh whilst staring up into the bright blue sky. After a long talk and laugh they decided to sit up and pack up everything to head back to Kira's house. As they sat up to leave they heard a rustle in the bushes causing them to jump. Kira stood infront of Mary to protect her from whatever would be in the bushes. Everything got very intense. There was fear in Mary's eyes and Kira was prepared to protect her at all costs. As the rustles got closer and louder Kira's grip got tighter. Then suddenly, a boy and a girl rolled out of the bush. Kira was ready to fight them until: "Wait wait stop. We arent here to hurt you. You dont have to trust us but we need to go now. They are coming." The girl stated. "Who's coming?" Mary asked. And like that they got interrupted by a massive bang knocking down the trees. They all got thrown back with a force. Kira flipped her hair out of her face and stared at the smoke in the sky in fear. She saw a plane that looked awfully familiar. "Mother?" Kira muttered. "Kira we gotta go. Now!" Mary grabbed her arm and they all ran back to her house. "Wait it's not safe to go to my house. They are going to see us." Kira said. They all ran away further than the forest to hide. "Just in case we die. My name is Adora and he is Kai. We are siblings. The Rogers, these people they attacked us before and they have attacked many other its like a lis-" Adora got interrupted by Kai "Hey Adora, not the time.". "Oh right sorry." Adora apoligized. Kira looked at them suspiciously. "Right i think they are gone." Mary claimed. They all headed back to Kira's house stealthily so they don't get seen. Adora and Kai look awfully confused and worried. "You guys can go look for any room you want. They are all cleared out so you can put whatever you want in there." Kira offered. They both nodded and went to find their rooms. Mary and Kira headed of to their bedroom to lay down and play some board games. As it got dark, Kira was still awake with Mary fast asleep laying on her legs and she was stroking her hair. Kira kissed her head and huddled into bed until she heard a bang causing her to jump up and Mary woke up with a scream. "Mary you alright?" Kira worried. "Im alright. Just a bad dream." Mary explained. "Wanna talk about it?" Kira suggested. "Uh no im fine dont worry about me. What was that bang anyway?" Mary questioned. "I dont know. Let me check.". Kira went out the room an Mary stayed in the room waiting for her. Kira walked around the living room and saw her vase smashed on the floor with a puddle of water and dead flowers on the floor. "Good riddance. Never liked them flowers." Kira muttered. She turned a corner to see Kai looking through her drawers in the living room. "What the hell do you think your doing Kai?" Kira snatched the papers out of his hand. "What's this." She asked. "You didn't tell me you were one of them. A Mallon.." Kai exclaimed. Kira had a shocked look in her eyes as she looked down at the papers. "It's a list of-" She got interrupted by Kai. "All the attacks your mother was planning.". "But I dont understand we only ever attacked the Goodalls.." Kira explained. "What? Like your little girlfriend in there?" Kai shouted. "My mom made me fight them in this war that has been going on in Toronto. But I didnt know she attacked other families.". "What do you think she was doing whilst she was gone all them hours of each week?" Kai interrogated. "She said she went for long walks. Then again she did always did seem suspicious." Kira explained. "Well she's a Mallon of course she's gonna act suspicious." Kai muttered. "Alright don't say it like that. We know im a Mallon but im not like them." Kira tried to explain but Kai wasn't having it. "What a load of crap.". "Whatever don't believe me." Kira said. Mary and Adora walked out their rooms. "We literally heard the entire thing. And it's not her fault she is the daughter of a Mallon. The Mallon's may not be good people but I can assure you, Kira is one of the most selfless, brave, beautiful and smart person i have ever met." Mary explained. Kira smiled at a sense of hope. "Kai. I don't like the Mallons but Kira is something else. I cant say i trust her because we havent known her long enough but give her a chance?" Adora asked. Kai looked at them all with a furious look but sighed and said "Whatever. But i dont trust her fully." They all nodded and went back to bed. Kira cleaned up the dead roses and the glass on the floor and went into bed where Mary was fast asleep already. "Sleepyhead." Kira chuckled. She huddled into bed with Mary and fell asleep with her in her arms. The next morning, Kai was already making breakfast. "Make yourself at home." Kira said with sarcasm. Kai gave her a look and she did one back. They didn't really like each other but could they blamed each other?
