As we walk along the dark streets the bottle of wine in my hand begins to swing along with my arm. Matty wraps his arm around my shoulders and walks closer to me, why am I feeling this way? I only met him tonight, he's making me feel so loose, so relaxed.
"Where d'you want to go?" He stops walking and turns to face me, his brown eyes so deep, his skin glowing under the dimly lit street lights.
"Pops, are you alright?" The way he says my name, I am completely distracted by him.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I don't know this place well so do you have anywhere in mind?" Right now I would go anywhere, just to talk to Matty more, find out about his life, his family. He seems so interesting.
"I live a taxi drive away, you alright to come to mine? Not like that- I promise." Secretly I want him to break that promise. But I'm trying to play it cool, he doesn't think of me in the same way, god- I only just met him.
"Yeah, sure. That sounds good, can we try and find a shop first? I'm out of fags." He smiles and starts to walk again, his curls bouncing as he walks.
"There's one round here." I catch up with him and he hangs his arm over my shoulders again. "So who did you come to the party with?"
"Two girls from my uni, Liv and Lucy, they're nice, I just got bored of being surrounded by drunk people and sh*t music. I don't even know whose party it was. They just persuaded me to come last minute" Matty laughs and as he does his eyes crinkle at the sides. "What is it? What are you laughing at?" We both giggle and turn the corner to the next street.
"Just you." We arrive at the newsagents and walk in, as I walk to the counter Matty walks down one of the aisles.
"Twenty Marlboro Gold, thanks." I say to the girl at the checkout, she looks just as bored as I did at the party. Hair scraped up in a messy bun, faded make up and slightly smudged mascara. Matty comes up behind me, puts one hand on my waist and places a packet of crisps and chocolate on the counter.
"These too please." Matty scrapes his hair out of his face, and smiles at me.
"Really?" I laugh and as I get my purse out of my pocket Matty hands money over to the girl at the till. "Oh- are you sure?" I ask Matty as the girl hands him his change.
"Of course, c'mon I'll call us a taxi." I pick up my cigarettes and Matty takes his food. He takes my hand and we walk of the shop, once we're outside Matty calls a taxi to pick us up. He hangs up and I light a cigarette.
I instantly feel the pleasure rush through me as I inhale the smoke.
Matty looks at me and smiles.
"You look so cool." I laugh at his comment and cover my face with my hands. I take my hands away from my face and tuck a piece of my hair behind my ear.
"Shut up- I'm a mess." I inhale my cigarette and Matty stands beside me and lights one too.
"I'm glad you came tonight." His voice has a slight rasp to it, yet it's so soft, so pure.
"I'm glad I came too." We smile and finish our cigarettes.
The taxi pulls up and Matty opens the door for me, I slide over to the far side behind the drivers seat and Matty gets in beside me. As he tells the driver his address I check my phone to see if I've got any texts from the girls.

// Lucy - Who was that guy you left with? Looked out the window and saw you two, he's fit!
Get in Pops! xx //

I laugh out loud unexpectedly, Matty looks over at me, confused.
"What is it?" He giggles.
"Just Lucy- she sent me this text."
As I show him the text on my lock screen we both laugh.
"She's not wrong there.." Matty jokes, I playfully hit his arm and we both laugh. I start to get tired in the car, it has been a long day.
I rest my head on Matty's shoulder and softly close my eyes, I can feel his hand on my knee and I instantly feel relaxed.
Matty rubs his thumb over my knee, I start to open my eyes.
"We're here, sleepy." He laughs softly, he pays and we make our way out of the taxi, I thank the driver before I close the door.
I walk up the stairs behind Matty leads me to the door of his flat, he turns the key and opens the heavy door.
As he holds it open for me I wipe my shoes on the mat, habit.
We run up the stairs of the hallway like children, laughing and teasing each other, I grip the bottle of wine in my hand so that I don't drop it.
We get into Matty's flat and I slip my feet out of my Doc's and place them beside the door, near the other shoes and coats hung up on hooks on the wall.
"Pops, 'ave you got the wine?" Matty asks holding two glasses, I walk up to him with the bottle in my hand, he smiles.
He pours out our wine and we walk into the lounge, I sit on the couch with my knees up to my chin, holding my glass of wine, Matty unconsciously does the same.
