The sun shone bright on his black suit, his tears wet his blazer. She was gone, really gone. And she was never coming back. She told him to be happy, but how could he. Without her, he had nothing. All that money meant nothing to him now, he learnt from her that money doesn't bring happiness. She had all that money and she was miserable for so long.
He held her coffin on his shoulder, with the weight of his loneliness after her, he struggled to move forward, he dragged his feet in the mud and as they lowered the body, a strong wind hit him. She was here, saying her final goodbyes. He smiled.
That day, a part of him was buried with her, the part of him that loved. He knew he'd never be able to love anyone the way he loved her. He was restless without her, he couldn't do anything to cool the fire she left in him but one part of him was at peace. The part that knew that she finally achieved what she craved in life. Peace. Tranquility. And knowing she was at peace gave him peace too. For now, he was in pain but as we all know too well, time is the best healer.
