Matt controlled my brother, he was the master of the kanima, and he had killed all of those people. We had gone home to tell Sheriff Stilinski as soon as we found out. We thought that Sheriff Stilinski could put a stop to this. I knew that we would find out why Matt did this and how to stop him, but something I didn't understand was why Lydia locked me up in that room. She said that he told her to do it. Maybe she was trying to keep me safe knowing what was going to happen to everyone at the party? Matt had already nearly drowned because of the side affects, anything could've happened.
"So, the kid's the killer?" Sheriff Stilinski repeated uncertain with what Stiles, Scott, and I were telling him.
"Yes." Stiles nodded.
"No." Sheriff Stilinski snapped.
"Yes." Stiles insisted.
"No." Sheriff Stilinski repeated.
"Dad, come on." Stiles pleaded, trying to give his father a reason to listen to him. "Everyone knows that the police looks for ways to connect victims in a murder, okay?" Stiles sighed, knowing that his father was stubborn. Sheriff Stilinski shook his head at his son, not believing that someone his son's age could be a serial killer. "So, all you have to do, is like look through the transcripts for all the classes they have in common."
"Well, except for the fact that the worker at the rave, Kara, wasn't in Harris' class." Sheriff Stilinski pointed out. He wanted to find any way to prove that his son was wrong.
"All right, you're right, I'm sorry. Then I guess they dropped the charges then?" Stiles smiles.
"No. You know what? They aren't dropping the charges, but that doesn't prove anything." Sheriff Stilinski snapped, not believing a word that his son was saying. He looked over at us, he might be able to believe it if we did. "Kaitlin, Scott, do you believe this?"
"It's Kaelin." I nod, "And yes I do."
"It's really hard to explain, but you just have to trust us." Scott pleaded.
"He took Harris' car, okay?" Stiles pointed out and his father sent him a look. Stiles sighed, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. If his father wasn't going to believe him then would anyone else? "Look, he even knew that if a cop found tire tracks at one of the murders and if enough victims were in Harris' class, they would arrest him."
"All right." Sheriff Stilinski gave in and Stiles smiled, "Even if it is a remote possibility, give me a motive. I mean why would this kid want most of the 2006 swim team dead?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Stiles asks and Sheriff Stilinski shook his head. "Our swim team sucks! It hasn't won in like six years!" I sent him a look. "Okay, we don't have a motive yet, but does Harris?"
"Matt can't swim." I point out, "Maybe he just killed them all in jealous rage."
"Really?" Stiles asks, sending me a look of disbelief. He shook his head, he was the one who usually came up with the motives and ideas.
"It's not the worst motive." I shrug innocently.
"What do you want me to do?" Sheriff Stilinski sighed, giving into his son and his friends.
"We need to look at the evidence." I inform him.
"Yeah, that would be at the station where I no longer work." Sheriff Stilinski admitted and I looked at him confused. Sheriff Stilinski was fired? Why? I glanced back at Stiles who looked down ashamed. It must have had something to do with them taking an armored van to contain Jackson in as they questioned him about being the kanima.
"Trust me. They'll let you in." Stiles assured him.
"Trust you?" Sheriff Stilinski asked and Stiles sat hesitantly, shaking his head.
