‼️AU where Andrew became a priest instead of a gravekeeper‼️
Every breath you took stung your throat as you ran. You heard the clock tower gong in the distance as it struck midnight, beginning to loose hope when you realized how far you were from the village. The bushes left bleeding scratches on your legs as you strayed from the path to shake off your persuers.
You heard the galloping of horses grow closer despite your attempts. In a fit of desperation, you threw the stolen goods into a nearby tree and scaled it as quickly as you could. Gripping the burlap sack to your chest, you held yourself completely still as they stopped barely 10 feet away from you.
"Damn it, we lost her." One voice said.
"Lord (L/N) won't be happy about this... She's escaped us 3 times already!" Whined the other.
You internally snickered at the two men beneath you, having slipped right under their noses; er... Above their heads.
"Guess we should head back now, we'll have to face a punishment eventually." The first voice spoke once again. The second one only groaned and mounted his horse again, the two of them solemnly trotting their horses back towards the manor. You smirked and sat up on the branch, preparing to leap down when it suddenly collapsed beneath you. You screamed as you crashed onto the forest floor, along with the stolen bundle.
"What the hell?!" The two men exclaimed at once. Your heart dropped when their footsteps thundered towards you. You stood up to run but your cloak was stuck underneath the branch. By the time you had freed yourself, a tall slender man with his hair in a braid was already holding you up by the back of your shirt.
"Ahahaha! Guess we didn't lose her after all!" The other one, who looked strikingly similar to the first, cheered as hs happily grabbed a rope from his saddle bag. You kicked and struggled in the air as he skipped over to tie you up. The other one bounced you to make you hold still. You pouted as your hands and legs were tied together before being thrown across the back of a horse.
The bouncing movement made you feel sick, not to mention the dust flying into your face. To make it worse, you were forced to look at your precious treasure while it was tied to the other horse. You sighed in relief when they finally stopped, only to frown when you realised where you were.
The golden gates of the manor glimmered in the flickering lantern lights, giving off an ominous feeling to all who passed through it.
You practically had to be dragged through the courtyard and into the front door, desperate to escape your father's silent wrath. Eventually one of the men just picked you up and carried you up the stairs to his office, setting you down outside the door. You gulped as the white-haired one knocked on the intimidating mahogany door.
"Come in." The voice called from inside. The doors swung open and the two men brought you in. Your father stood facing a window, his hands behind his back.
"Leave her here, wait outside." He commanded. They nodded and left, closing the door behind them. You stood in silence, too nervous to look up at him. After a few moments, he turned around and walked up to you, the clicking of his shoes echoed through the vaulted ceiling. He stopped right in front of you, still gazing at the floor.
