It was late at night and the trees were rustling as the wind was blowing softly, a family of four were in their house, sleeping safe and sound. A mother, father, and two sisters were all asleep until the edest daughter heard a noise coming from outside, she woke up with a shock and got up and looked out the window, but there was nothing there. She walked out of her room and down the stairs to the back door and she opened it and went outside, it was cold because the wind was blowing softly, she looked around and saw that the washing line had fallen over, but it must not have been the wind because it wasn't blowing hard, it was really strange but she just shrgged her shoulders and stood the washing line back up and walked to the door but she heard a noise again and turned around. The washing line had fallen over again, someone must be in their backyard playing tricks on her, she was unhappy so she walked over to the washing line and stood it back up once again but this time she pushed it into the ground so it would not move.
The eldest sister walked back to the door and walked inside and shut the door, hopefully it won't fall over this time and when she looked outside through the back door window, she saw a dark figure pepping out from behind a tree in her backyard, she got so scared and ran upstairs into her room, closed the door, she shut the blinds and hopped into bed under her covers. A faint laugh coming from outside became louder and louder, she blocked her ears and hoped that the laugh would go away but her little sister woke up and looked outside and smiled, she ran downstairs and her big sister followed her. The little sister walked outside and started to giggle and then she said something "hello Laughing Jack, are you here to play?", the eldest daughter was confused because her little sister was never like this every other night but something didn't seem right.
The figure laughed and came out from behind the tree "you have found me! Who is with you?" he walked forward and the eldest sister saw that he was a clown with long hair, and a big swirly cone nose. He has long arms and baggy pants, he was always smiling for some reason, the little sister smiled and looked at her big sister "this is my big sister" she smiled and Laughing Jack placed his hand into his pocket and pulled out candy, he sat down crossing his legs and held his hand out "I brought you a present my sweetie", the little sister jumped up and down and smiled "Thankyou Laughing Jack" she walked towards him and sat down in front of him and ate the candy. Her big sister saw his big sharp teeth and she got more and more scared "little sis get away from him, hes dangerous" her little sister looked at her big sister and frowned at her "hes not dangerous, leave him alone" she turned back towards Laughing Jack and he played pop goes the weasle on a little recorder, she smiled and clapped her hands together.
Her big sister went into the laundry and grabbed a broom and took of the head off it and sharpened the tip and walked back outside, clenching her hands onto the broom she walked towards him, Laughing Jack saw her, he stood up and took a step back "now child, don't get angry with me" he said with a nervous smile but she grunted and kept on walking towards him, her little sister ran and hid behind a bush and watched, Laughing Jack smiled and showed her his long pointy fingers but she wasn't afraid, she started to lunge towards him with the sharp stick and he tried dodging her moves but she scraped his arm and that made Laughing Jack mad, so he ran towards her and slashed at her stomach making her insides fall out and he asked her little sister to help him stuff her with candy, she came out from behind the bush and helped then he gave her a hug and she went back inside to bed.
