Clock ticking backwards

Night

After we had come home, Kai was clearly upset by something. He kept avoiding my eyes , but tried to act otherwise normal. He took his favorite book, which he had read atleast 15 times, sat down own the sofa,  puffed up the pillows for back support and sat really comfortably.  I didn't want to say anything, but it kept on bugging me and i couldn't think of anything else. But then he broke the silence" Hey Xe, are you gonna make something to drink?" still focused on the book.

I was suprised, he usually doesn't ask me to make something to drink.

" Yeah, i wouldn't mind having some tea myself. What kind would you like today? Green, white? Or maybe even red ice-tea?"

"I want hot chocolate with ice-cream, marshmallows and honey, if you don't mind."

"We don't have any of that...Not even milk."

"The sto me to heaven, hell and back, you sure are lazy. Keep sitting on your  ass, who knows, ingredients and utensils might fly to you and prepare themselves"

That hurt...really hurt, but I'm not gonna cry here, not right now, not for this reason.

"Get the stick out your ass." I yelled. He smirked and replied as talking to a peasant.

"I'll get  mine out once you get yours out. Otherwise itś just an unfair trade."

" A stick isn't the only thing up your ass, is it?" this time i replied all confident myself. I've never seen him be like this to me. He was always the level headed one out of the two of us. 

He sighed frustratingly and sayd. "What's the point of arguing with you? You're hot headed and I can't change that. "

" You're either calm or not?" I was still fustrated, I could'nt help but make a fist. What was his problem?

" There you go again. I sayd there is no point, so calm down."

" You son of a bitch."

He glared at me, finally putting down his book.

" First that airheaded bitch Nola and now you? What do you want? What is you're problem? I didn't even do anything? Yeah i wanted to put Nola in her rightful place but after you interupted me i bit my tongue, so why all his anger now? You shouldn't be angry with the wrong person. Find out who or what make you angry and go bezerk from there, no need to play with my nerves."

He looked down, closed his book and kept quiet for couple seconds. "I'm sorry. I agree, Nola didn't seem the smartest, i almost feel bad for Hux."

" Almost?"

" Almost" he took a deep breath while petting his left hand. " You see... Hux was a normal kid, even nice, but he did like to show off and be the center of attention from time to time."

I was quiet, looking at my feet. " I'll go to the store and make you some hot chocolate, you can finish the story then." he just nodded. I did that becaue I felt that he needed some comfort and maybe even time by himself.  Whatever the story is effected Kai, and i wanted to be calm and colected myself.
