"Tik....tok.....tik....tok......tik.....tok-" The continuous ticking of the clock was irritating, "tik....tok....tik .....tok-" But it was the last thing i was worrying about right now."tik....tok....tik...tok-" You'd be surprised how busy an old, vintage clock shop could get, The bustling noise of the customers would fill the rooms ,my grandfather talking about his 'old days in the war,' to my friends while i just stand in the corner, wishing i could have disappeared. How I wish I could go back, before all this happened...before it happened...
And now my days are numbered, all because of that cursed artifact. The one that brought this pathetic world's doom." tik...tok...tik.....tok..tik...tok" I used to never be bothered by our clocks ticking, it usually helped me too calm down after a stressful day at the shop, now all it did was bring me more dread. A feeling that hasn't been around for a long time. I might as well get up and do something. If this is going to be my last resting place I might as well make something to remember me.I walked around, the walls were wood coloured, clocks were hung all over them as the quiet ticking gave the room an unsettling vibe.On the left side, there was a giant bookcase, housing many, well books. The shop was fairly tidy,I turned to my right and looked at the clerk desk, there were tiny bits and bobs all over it.The item that stood out the most though, was an old photo of grandma,grandpa...and me. I miss them, but they're gone now...thanks to that, that thing. Our shop was small but successful. The floor was covered in a dark red carpet, perfect for hiding blood stains. I wish I still had more time.
The culprit who brought so much despair to me, my family , this town , and potentially the world... is called The Elf. I know, not a good name, but I was trying not to get killed back then. The elf is a dangerous beast. To think, just a month ago i thought he was just another old statue grandfather has from the war. My train of thought was stopped abruptly by the sound of a car rushing down the road, past the shop window." tik.....tok....tik....tok..." I looked to the giant grandfather clock, the prized possession of this family...and the only thing left of it, other than me and this shop, but we won't have to worry about that soon.
"Half an hour left," I mumbled." Why did it have to be ours, this is all too crazy. It's all so messed up."As the minutes passed by i finally realised what i should do to be remembered.
I turned to the photo of me and my grandparents, then to the grandfather clock and finally to a pen I saw on the clerk desk." I'll just right on the back of the picture, put it in the clock, and it will protect the picture!" I declared. I rushed to the pen and picture, " Dear-"
Bang! " Oh no, he's here....." I breathed out. Bang! I quickly scribbled down a message on the picture. Bang! "It's on the roof... " I rushed up the stairs to the attic door, with the clerk desk chair, I barricaded the door. Bang! I felt the room shake. 'It's probably on the balcony now' I ran back down the stairs as i heard another bang. "Tik....tok.....tik....tok...." Suddenly, I heard a small voice sing....It was The Elf.
"One day this will all be gone..." It was quiet once again. "Cause i'm about to end you all..." The voice was raspy, but on a high pitch." So come out, come out wherever you are..." The words were very disturbing."There's no point to even try to fight.." The voice sang as if it was singing a lullaby, it sent chills down my spine. I quickly ran to the grandfather clock ,opened the side access panel and slipped the picture inside.I stood in the middle of the room, waiting for the demon to enter my sight. If I don't survive, well I might as well go down with a fight.I raised my fists to my face.CRASH! The chair fell down. The door slowly creaked open, and a loud squeaky cackle filled the shop.A silhouette stood in the middle of the entrance as a breeze swept into the shop."One by one ,the tiny teeny presents disappear," It sang even louder now."So you want a merry christ-mas," It finally stepped into the light of the attic." Don't come crying to me..." It's voice suddenly went an octave lower, its thin raspy voice echoing around the room. "Worst Christmas ever" i thought."If he really had to come out every year, why on christmas?" He slowly stepped forward, the floorboards creaked as I tried to control my breathing.
The Elf walked around slowly, he was terrifying. his skin was a dark green kind of colour, like it was rotting. Cracks ran along his body as he cackled once more. In his hands he held a small axe.The handle looked as if it was made from lignum vitae, where did he even get that? The head of the axe shone brightly as he twisted it around. It looked like it is titanium."I might as well give up, i'm never going to win this" i whispered. Crack! As soon I said that The Elf's head snapped to its side.
"Hmmm what do we have here,"It sang."A little girl trying to stop me," it continued."Why do you hate me?" its voice struck fear into my heart."Do you want to die? Well It's good that you called me-" I screamed. Not because of any pain I was going through physically, but emotionally.
"You are not welcome here, ever.I did not call you, no one did, you are killing people, and have destroyed my whole family.Take a good look elf. This will be the last place you will ever see." I cried, this will be my revenge.I'll stop all of this, even if it means i'll have to go.At least i'll see Grandpa soon.I still haven't looked at his face.
"Oh ho ho, you think you can survive?" it's voice sounded like scraping nails on a chalkboard.I finally looked up to his face.It was standing at the bottom of the stairs. It had a small build up.LIke the size of an average vintage doll. There was a red substance dripping all over him and his axe.His eyes, they were the worst part of it all.His left eye, well he had none.Just an abyss of darkness were it should have been. You could see the outline of the socket, but anything in the middle was a frightening black. His right eye was covered by a piece of a doll.It was the plastic piece of the face were the right eye should go. He had a crazed smile grace his face as I stared at him with fear. His teeth were knives, ready to cut anything that touched them. There was a crimson colour dripping from them."I have a present for you," The Elf smiled. He raised one hand and snapped them.Bang! Two abnormally tall men crashed through the roof. They were a pale colour, and wore strangely clean suits.I craned my neck to look u[p at their faces.
"AHHHHHH!" I screamed once more. For when I looked up at their face, I saw nothing. As I stared at the two slenderman before me, two words escaped The Elfs mouth,
"Get.Her.".That was enough for me to know I should start running, and I did. I ran outside our family shop.I lived outside the city so I couldn't exactly ask people for help.It could have been hours, minutes, or even seconds passing.I didn't know nor did I care, the adrenaline pushed me to run faster and faster, until I eventually lost the tall beings.Past trees and bushes, branches scraping me, but i couldn't care less.I came to a halt.It looked like I was in the forest near the town.I sighed in relief, but it was short lived, because i just realised,
"It's night....Oh no." I quickly turned around, my surroundings were unfamiliar."Ugh i'm lost and the elf will find me soon..."i thought. As soon as i finished my thoughts i heard a quiet hum.It was barely audible, but i recognised it immediately.I tried to run, anywhere but here.Unfortunately luck was not on my side.
"So, you managed to outrun my helpers. No matter I'll win whether you try or not."The creature squeaked.
"S-Stay back, y-you can't w-win,"I stuttered.
"You know ,you're Grandfather and you are very much alike, so sad that your lives will both end so pathetically, begging and crying."The elf stated. He was a crazed maniac, one that gave no mercy.
"W-what, w- why are you doing this?" I asked. if I could buy time. I could maybe figure out a way to get out of this mess.
"You're grandfather is the one who caused this mess my dear," his gravelly voice bellowed" Trapping me in that wretched box. I was staring at your customers, unknowing of the day I would escape and destroy this all. Goodnight , and have a merry christmas...."he cackled..taking slow steps towards my trembling figure, holding his bloody axe.Getting ready to swing it.And then he attacked.
