If you got it, it ain't no question
No, it ain't no room for guessing
No more than emotionally invested (no, no)
Showing you all my imperfections, ohDamaged by H.E.R. softly played throughout Yomi's condo. It was a couple days after her birthday and she was pretty restless from the long weekend, not to mention having to return to the shop that Monday to tattoo. Had she not had any appointments, she definitely wouldn't have showed up.
It was a rainy day, and Yomi decided that she would spend the morning doing some cleaning. She was currently in the kitchen disinfecting her countertops, while humming along to one of her favorite songs at the moment.
If I let you, you'll take me for granted, yeah (you, you, you, you)
If I'm worth more than you could manage, manage, yeah
Open with me, oh, we could be honest
Closer to me, oh, giving me solace
Promise that you won't let me fallMusic is what kept her sane. When everything else seemed to be falling apart, music was her peace.
Her relationship with Elijah had been weighing heavily on her mind, more than she wanted it to. She honestly didn't know where it was going, or what the point of it was. Both of them had admitted to having commitment issues, and decided to not pursue a relationship. But, it was three years later and Yomi was a grown ass woman. She had grown ass person and managed to get past her child hood trauma.
She wasn't a kid anymore, and would not continue to drag on child-like behaviors. Either Elijah would have to step up, or she would have to let that part of her life go, no matter how much it would break her heart.
Yomi thought back to when her and Elijah first met, and it placed a wide smile on her face.
"Girl, that man will not take his fucking eyes off you." Muna whispered to her best friend. "And he look like he got a bag, sis."
Muna and Yomi aren't what you would consider gold diggers. They just had their own money, and expected any man they entertained to have the same. The two had always vowed to never mess with a bum nigga. They knew they wanted a lot out of life, and would never settle for less.
The girls were at a local bodega, picking up some snacks to munch on. At the time Yomi was doing hair and Muna was doing nails.
"He fine ass fuck, too." Yomi said, staring him back down, smirking. She was never afraid to go after what she wanted due to her high confidence. "Just hope he not looking for a relationship with my young ass."
Muna just chuckled at Yomi, because she had always made it clear that she did not want to commit to one person, because she knew it would be toxic. She didn't want to get into a relationship until she was ready and knew who she was as a person. She wanted to be able to love someone the right way and be loved the right way back.
