Exams and preparations

"Listen up," Yukio said as he stood in front of the class. "Summer vacation is less than a month and a half away, but before the break, you're going to be taking this year's Exwire authorization exam."

"Esquire exam?" Rin asked, looking towards Shiemi. "What the heck's that?"

"No, Exwire." She corrected.

"Heh?"

"A candidate for becoming an exorcist."

"Hmm..."

Miuna died slightly inside. He really knew nothing...

Yukio continued. "I want everyone to keep in mind that once you're promoted to Exwire you'll be subjected to more specialized combat training. The exam won't be easy to pass. Therefore, starting Monday we'll be holding a week-long boot camp to prepare for the exam."

The class gasped, except for Miuna. Mephisto had already run all this by her, considering she would be taking a separate exam so she could use the full range of her abilities.

"Since attending the camp isn't mandatory, indicate whether or not you'll be participating on the form." He handed some sheets around, everyone examining them. "If you are, please indicate the meister or the title you want to acquire and turn the form in by Monday."

Miuna read over the form quickly, writing in that she will not be attending the boot camp and leaving the meister blank for the moment.

"A meister...or a title...?" Rin mumbled to himself before walking over to Miuna, Bon, Shima, and Konekomaru and holding his paper in front of Bon. "Hey...could you tell me what a meister is...?"

"Huh?" Bon asked surprised.

"Uh...come on...help me out here...please..."

Miuna covered her mouth as she laughed slightly.

"Come on, give me a break. You wanna be an exorcist but you don't know what that is? Seriously, what's with you?" Bon yelled.

Miuna, considering she was sitting behind/next to him, buried her face into him to try and muffle her laughs. Bon didn't notice, still glaring at Rin as Shima laughed a bit. "You really are totally clueless, aren't you Okumura?"

"Fine. I don't have a clue so are you gonna tell me or what?"

"I'll tell you!" Keonekomaru butt in. "It's a technical qualification to become an exorcist. It's a title given to those who've proven to have great skills. There are five meisters in all. Knight, Dragoon, Tamer, Aria and Docter. As long as you've acquired at least one of those, you can become an exorcist."

Rin was now sitting next to him as he explained. "Oh ok. I think I get it now."

"No one said you could sit with us!" Bon exclaimed as Miuna laughed slightly, leaning against the desk behind her.

"The other thing is," Konekomaru continued. "Your style of combat will differ depending on what meister you are."

Rin gave a cat-like smile, closing his eyes. "Sweet! Thanks for explaining Konekomaru! Which one are you going for?"

"Well, Shima and I are going to try for Aria."

Rin looked up to his page. "Hmm? Aria?"

He nodded. "Aria's a meister that battles demons by reciting passages from the bible and other sacred scriptures.

"Bon here's gonna go for both Aria and Dragoon. Because he's all hardcore and everything." Shima said with his head resting on his fist.

"Wow. That's our Bon."
