You and Steve Rogers had been together for a while, faced many adversities and overcame them every single time. The way he made you feel when you looked at him was astounding, yet the colors refused to come.
When Steve popped the question it was a no brainer: yes.
"Yes! Absolutely I will marry you!" You smiled, throwing your arms around his neck and kissing him passionately.
You beamed with happiness as you watched him slip the ring on your finger, in a state of disbelief that it was happening.
"I'm going to make you the happiest woman in the world Mrs. Rogers," Steve smiled, his eyes a little teary as he stared at you in awe, "I just wish the gray would go away."
"In time," you responded, placing your hand on his cheek, "Right person-"
"-wrong time. We found each other too soon."The day of the wedding came sooner than you thought. You stood in your room, feeling strangely at ease, knowing Natasha was taking care of all the details.
"You sure you wanna marry Steve?" Nat questioned, "I can sneak you out the back no problem."
You laughed, "Thanks Nat, but I'm sure. Just found each other too early."
"Okay, if you're sure this is what you want, then I trust you."
"Thank you."
You hugged her, grateful for the support and her just being there.
"Come on, your hubby is waiting."
Leading you to the aisle, she kissed your cheek as she handed you off to Tony.
"Thanks for giving me away."
"You know, I've grown very fond of you, thought you'd be great, and then you chose him. Star spangled panties over there."
"Be nice Tony."
"That is being nice. He's so obtuse and pretentious."
"Well some might say youre quite pretentious."
Tony mocked a scoff as the two of you walked the aisle, arms latched together as he kept whispering words in your ear, convincing you to find someone else. Rolling your eyes, you hugged him tightly.
"He'll be good to you," Tony whispered, kissing your forehead before waving you forward.
Your breath was shaky as you continued forward, the brightest smile gracing his cheeks as his gray hued eyes began to tear up.
Taking his hand, you felt your body jitter with excitement, anticipating the future with the love of your life.
"You look amazing," Steve whispered.
"Thank you, I had hoped you'd like it."
You two continued to smile and shed tears as the officiator spoke their piece.
The vows had came around and you couldn't help but to cry at his sweet and genuine words. You knew this was it, he was the endgame for you.
"I now announce you man and wife, you may kiss the bride."
You smiled as Steve listed your veil, kissing you passionately as he dipped you. You were in a state of euphoria, the realization of you becoming Mrs. Rogers swirling in your mind."Congratulations!"
"Congrats!"
"I'm happy for you two!"
The congratulations was never ending, you were thankful for the amount of people here too support you and wish you the best.
"Babe, do you remember Bucky?" Steve questioned.
"Bucky?" You thought for a moment, "Yes, your old friend who was also frozen in time right? Always out and about?"
"He's here."
"What? I thought he wasn't gonna make it?"
"Me too! Come on I'll introduce you."
You followed your husband, looking forward to meeting Steve's best friend you've heard so much about. Lacing your fingers through his, you watched as he waved him over.
"Bucky, this is Y/N, the one I've told you about," Steve smiled.
Something felt strange as your eyes locked on too each other. Your eyes blurred for a second before strange colors flooded your vision, stopping you in your tracks before focusing again on the man in front of you.
"Pleasure to meet you," Bucky spoke, shaking your hand gently.
Your breath caught as many emotions rushed you at once. Taking a moment, you smiled before shaking his hand back, "The pleasure is all mine."
"You okay my love?" Steve asked.
"Everything's fine, I'm gonna go get a drink, want any?"
"No, I'm good."
You couldn't walk away fast enough. You couldn't believe what had happened, and didn't want to, however all the colors that were muted before told you different.Your hands shook as you took a shot to steady your nerves.
"This is just great," you mumbled.
"Y/N?"
You turned from the bar to see Bucky before you. Anger, confusion, relief, sadness all filled you at once as you gritted your teeth.
"So it's you huh, my best friend's girl," he smiled sadly.
"Guess so, funny how things work out," your voice was pointed, upset about the whole situation.
"Well I won't tell anyone."
"Could you really?"
He chuckled, "Guess not, at least not without opening a can of worms."
"Precisely."
Just being near him you felt the tension drop from your shoulders, a sense of ease covering you.
"It's a shame we didn't meet sooner."
You let the statement hang in the air, your eyes finding your husband, who's blonde hair and blue eyes were so foreign to you. His smile as he laughed amongst his friends warmed your heart.
"I'm sorry, but I love him."
"You know that's not how this soulmate thing works," Bucky whispered.
"He doesn't deserve that."
"You're right about that."
"We can't tell him."
The two of you locked eyes, a silent promise being made.
