(This is a real story). I apologies if I make any mistakes. This is my first story. Thank you for reading. This is part one of Oreo's journey...
I first layed eyes on her when she was only a four day old puppy. Her distinctive white stripe caught my eye and I knew the perfect name...Oreo. I knew right from the start that she was special.
I took her home two months later. Her eyes twinkled in the sunlight and her white stripe stood out on her black, thick fur coat. She was shy and fragile, but I loved her with all my heart. To me, she was perfect
She grew day by day and we got to know each other better. Every time I sat down next to her, she would crawl into my lap and doze off to sleep. Non of my other dogs did anything like this. Oreo was always very calm, and loving.
After about a week, we found out Oreo's heart rhythm was not normal. I was scared to death even though the vet said it should go away. Despite the problem, she was still acting like herself as if nothing was wrong.
Every day after I would come home from school, she would run up and hug me with her tail spinning. She was always jumping on top of me and licking me in the face.
She was also having breathing problems, gasping for breath, snoring and snorting. The vet said she her nostrils were almost completely closed and needed to be cut off within 3 months or before becoming and outdoor dog. We scheduled a surgery for a few months later.
After having Oreo for two weeks, things gone from bad to worse in a matter of seconds on a normal evening...... (please read part two for more). Thank you!
