Keep it a secret

I waited hidden, controlling my breathing so I wouldn't be found out just yet. After all this meeting was going to be fun, and even though Fury was a little mad at me for this situation, I knew he was already thinking of something.

"Skye's friend, the one that we brought in because she was hiding her." May started. "The way she reacted when we were ambushed."

"Cut to the chase agent May." Fury interrupted May.

"I'm pretty sure she comes from the Red Room. And we need to keep an eye on her." May explained.

There were a few seconds of silence, and I knew Fury was thinking on how to go with the situation, so I kept hiding for a little longer, after a little longer Fury got up from his chair and walked to the front of his desk.

"That will not be necessary." Fury finally said.

"What? Why not?" May asked confused.

"What is your fear agent May?" Fury asked. "That she will try something against S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

"She might have been sent by them. And we can be careless." May replied.

"She wasn't." Fury told her.

"I'm sorry Director, but how can you be so sure of that?" May questioned.

Fury sighed, there was no way May would leave that office without an answer, or she would keep investigating me on her own. I took the silence as my cue to make my entrance.

"That's because I work for him." I said leaving my hide out and sitting on the empty chair.

"Agent May, met Agent Wild Rose." Fury said. "And get out of my chair."

"Agent Wild Rose?" May asked confused. "But there is no information on any agent with that name."

"That is because I'm not on the system. As the world knows me, I do not work for S.H.I.E.L.D.." I started to explain

"She works directly for me. Only a few people, and now you agent May, know about her." Fury continued. "Didn't I told you to get out of my chair." He added looking now at me.

"Fine fine, I will leave your chair Director Nick Fury sir." I said joking while I stood up and walked closer to them.

"Never call me like that again. There is a reason everyone calls me Fury and only that." Fury said serious.

"What about Skye then? Why did you hide her?" May questioned.

"I had my own mission, so I had to interfere with yours just a tiny bit. Skye was supposed to be out of my house before you arrived there." I explained.

"It was also your idea to have her on our team. Why?" May asked.

"Oh, you explain that one." Fury said. "I had nothing to do with that." And he walked back to his chair.

"I need to double check something, so for now I need her safe. No better place than your team." I started. "However, she can't know that. At least for now."

"Can I have some more information as to why?" May requested.

"Not for now. But you can contact me with the same number I gave Skye. And please, the fact that I'm an agent too, you can't tell it to any of them. Not even Coulson." I told her.

"Alright. Fine, I still don't like this." May said. "I will leave now. However, I want answers fast."

I waited until May left the room, and then looked back to Fury.

"Their enemy, they will need Skye's skill. They fell for that trap, not even May felt their presence, and their system also didn't pick them up." I said.

"I know. Since you have to investigate if Skye is the person you think you saw on the photo. Can you keep an eye on the team too? I think they might need your help." Fury requested.

"I guess, but I can't be with them all the time. May knows, and Skye knows I'm hiding something about me. But the others will be a problem." I said. "Plus, I don't like your agent Ward for some reason I can't yet pinpoint."

"Do whatever you need to do." Fury said.

"I will leave now, I will check on the team as soon as I can. But for now, I think they can handle it." I said and walked to the door.

"What can be worse than aliens, right? Oh, I miss that little bastard even if he left me like this." Fury commented in a whisper.

"What was that Fury?" I asked before opening the door.

"Nothing, just go and take care of your job." Fury said waving me out of the room.

I walked out of there, I still had work to do, and needed to find that photo once again. I went back to my apartment to look over all the files I had in the house. I didn't have the entirety of the files, just small bits, but it would be easier to find out from where the photo was to get to it. once I reached home, I walked straight to my room where I had what I needed. When I picked up the file case my phone started to ring, I picked up and set it between my ear and shoulder while I started to go through the papers.

"Hello?" I said.

"Nez?" I heard from the other side.

"Skye what is it?" I asked her. "How are you doing with that team of yours?"

"I don't really know, I don't think they trust me that much." She replied in almost a murmur.

"You just need to give them some time. If they bother you, just call me and I will teach them a lesson for you." I said to calm her down.

For now, I knew that at least May would protect her, and that was a relief for me at least for the time being. I heard a faint laugh from her side and I smiled. It was then I found the paper I needed.

"Ah ah I found you." I said out loud.

"What did you find?" Skye asked.

"Ah, just a paper I needed for work." I explained.

"Oh, did I interrupt you? I will call you later on if you are busy." Skye said.

"It's fine, I can spare a few minutes to talk." I told her.

"Team meeting in the common room." I heard faintly on the other side of the phone.

"I guess I will still have to call you back. Agent May is calling all of us." Skye informed me.

"Well you know my number. Take care Skye." I told her before hanging up the call. "Now to find the photo I need." I said looking at the paper in my hands.
