❝You don't win alone. That's just how it is.❞

-Tobio Kageyama

"And Karasuno High School takes the win!"

You and Mang stand up in the bleachers, screaming and cheering your hearts out, ignoring the fact that the headmaster could storm in at any moment.

Karasuno and Ukai give each other hugs and high fives, cheering themselves. Then, they line up to appreciate the other team. Choruses of "good game" and "nice job" echo throughout the gym.

Running down to the court, you call Shoyo's name, a smile wide on your face. You hug him.

"Congratulations!" You say, "Those guys were really tall, Sho!"

Shoyo smiles triumphantly. "I still beat them."

"Oi Dumbass," someone calls, "volleyball is a team sport. We beat them. Don't forget it."

"Look who's talking, Mr. King of the Court!" Shoyo shouts back, cupping his hands around his mouth.

"Now, now, Hinata," a brown-haired boy says, "we just won a game! Don't start an argument."

"Now, Daichi, how do you expect him to—"

"You too, Tsukishima," Daichi growls, glaring at a tall blond boy. "Stop talking."

"HHHHIIIIIIIIIINAAAAAAATTTAAAAA!"

Two boys run at Shoyo, hugging him at immediate contact. A short, spiky-haired one and buzzcut boy: Tanaka.

"That's our decoy!" They say, jumping up and down. "We beat Date Tech!"

"Oh, oh!" Shoyo smiles, "Noya, that receive you did was so cool! Can you teach me how to hit it with your foot like that?"

The short boy—Noya—grins, putting his hands on his hips. There's a proud glint in his eyes. "Of cour—!"

"Hey, it's Shoyo's girlfriend!" Tanaka says, pointing. Even though you've been standing there the whole time, his eyes widen. Noya smirks.

"Hinata, is this the lovely lady you've been talking about?"

The rest of Karasuno looks at you, gathering around.

Shoyo blushes, nodding. "G-Guys, this is my girlfriend!"

For a second, it's quiet, until Tsukishima starts to laugh. "Girlfriend?" He snorts, "Hinata—"

"Actually," you interrupt, fiddling with your hands, "I am his girlfriend."

A boy with silver hair puts an arm around Shoyo's shoulder. "Well, well, Hinata, you're growing up so fast."

Kageyama tilts his head. "You're kidding right? He's so annoying. You're his girlfriend?"

"H-Hey! I am not annoying!"

"Yes you are, you . . . annoying person."

"You're the one who's annoying!"

"Look who's talking!"

Shoyo sticks his tongue out at his teammate, furrowing his brows. Kageyama huffs and looks away.

Coach Ukai walks over, with two pretty girls by his side. There's also a guy with glasses.

"Oh hey," the store owner smiles, "it's you! I haven't seen you in a while. What happened?"

"O-Oh, It's a long story," you stutter, "but I kind of ran away from an orphanage?"

Ukai glances at the guy with glasses beside him, before looking back at you. "You're kidding, right? Are you okay?"

Now the whole team is quiet, listening to your confession. It feels good to let it all out.

"Yeah, I'm fine, except for the fact that the owner of the orphanage could be here any second now to take me away, also, I have nowhere to go and I'm not sure what to do because I also stole her car and I don't really want to go to jail—"

"Woah there, kid," Coach Ukai stops you, "you're telling me you stole a car to run away from an orphanage?"

You blink. "Yeah."

Shoyo's jaw drops, muttering to himself. "That's so cool."

"Yeah it is, except now I'm kind of freaking out because I don't know what to do now and I'm not sure how I'm going to get Henjin out of kitty jail—"

"Kitty jail?" Shoyo whimpers, "What do you mean? What happened to Henjin?"

Tsukishima and Yamaguchi perk up at the sound of the kitten's name.

"When I got taken away, they put him in a shelter!" You wine. "He could've been adopted by now, and I really just . . . "

You take a deep breath, letting it out slowly. You didn't realize how crazy this escape plan was.

Shoyo must've noticed your stress, because he hugs you lightly. "Don't worry," he assures you, a smile on his face, "we can help break him out!"

"A kitty heist?" Tanaka coos, "I'm in!"

Noya joins him. "Oh yeah!"

Ukai shakes his head, sighing. "Guys, we can just re-adopt him. We don't have to break into the shelter."

"Dangit."

"Fiiinneee."

Mang tugs at your sleeve. "B-but what about us?" She's been quiet this whole time; the boisterous boys of Karasuno must've spooked her. "Are we gonna have to go back?"

"Don't worry, kiddos," Coach Ukai grins, "I have a plan."
