Hero League-The Beginning (VOLUME 1)

Chapter 2-Hero League?

(recap from chapter 1-Aria had just blasted ice from her hand in the woods with Haise, and Mina.)

Mina: Wait this means she's- Haise: Yeah, she's a power holder. You see Aria you have this power that only a handful of people in the world have. Only less than about 10% of the population possess a power. You are one of the lucky ones. Aria: Wait, a power? How do you know all of this? Haise: Well, this isn't easy to tell you, but... Me and Mina both have our own powers too. Aria: Wait, you guys have powers too? Haise: Yeah, we're sorry for not telling you sooner, but this whole thing is a giant secret. You can't tell anybody not even you're parents. Aria: This is a lot to take in. This is all happening so fast, I mean..what are your guy's powers anyways? Haise: Well, I have Fire, and Mina has Water. Mina: Yeah, but you really can't tell anybody or this will ruin our society if you do. Aria: The secret is safe with me, but I still don't know everything about these powers yet. Haise: We will help you get used to them. You normally get them around 13-16 so you're fine on age. We will help you on the way, but it's getting late so we should go back to our houses. We still have school in the morning. Aria: Alright, good night everyone. Mina: Goodnight Aria! Remember: No one is to know about this. Aria: I got it, I promise not to tell anyone! Haise: Ok, goodnight. See you all tomorrow! 

(The next day, at break)

Haise: Hey, Aria we would like to introduce somebody to you! Aria: Oh, who is it? Mina: Aria, this is our friend Soohyun! He is a Korean foreign exchange student! Aria: Oh, that is so cool! I can speak a little Korean I started looking into some cultural things and got interested so I learned some vocabulary. Mina: Wait, really that's so cool! Soohyun: Hello! I am Soohyun! Aria: 안녕하세어 수현아! (Trans: Hello Soohyun!) Soohyun: Oh you speak Korean?! That is amazing very! I sorry I still learn English. Aria: It's all good! Yes, I can speak Korean fairly well I have studied for 2 years or so. Soohyun: Oh, very good Korean! Aria: 감사합니다! (Trans: Thank you very much!) Haise: Ok, enough of the Korean lesson for today, we need to talk to you about Soohyun's power. You see Soohyun has a power as well. His power is Lightning. Aria: Oh, wow so does everyone have different powers? Haise: Kind of, basically there are 7 powers you can get but sometimes multiple people can have a power depending on it's commonality. Soohyun: What your power? Aria: Um, I'm not really sure do you know what the power is when ice blasts out of your hand? Is there some special name for it? Haise: No, all powers just say what they are, yours is just called Ice. Yours is actually pretty rare. It's the rarest out of the whole group. Fire and water are the most common of powers. Aria: There is a lot to these powers we have, is there anything special you can do with them? I mean other than just everyday minor usages? Mina: Should we tell her about-? Haise: Yeah, she should know, but we need to go somewhere more private. Let's meet up after school at the gate's again, this time Soohyun will be joining us. Aria: Ok, see you then!

(After School) Mina: There she is! Ok, we have everybody we can go to our spot in the woods again. (In their spot) Haise: Ok, I think we tell her now. Aria: What is it you want to tell me? Haise: Ok, well there's this thing that only people with powers know about. It's called the Hero League. Basically, it's this big thing that everyone is hyped up about. Honestly, it is very much worth the hype. The Hero League is for the best of the best, and only the best power holders can do. You compete in different teams as well. Kind of like sports, where you have a stadium and people pay to watch. But people with powers go for entertainment to watch these things that you can't find on TV. These people will compete all year round with their powers, and at the end they compete in the Hero League championships. If you win, you go down in the hall of fame, and you are looked at as the best in the world. Everyone will look up to you like a star. A lot of people want to do it, but it's so incredibly hard to get in. You have to go through the qualification exams in order to get in the Hero League. They are super hard. You have to be 15 to enter so we have about 1 year to get in. How old are you Aria? Aria: I'm 14. Haise: Yeah, so about a year for all of us. The oldest they take is 17 so you don't have long to enter. Another way to think of it is kind of like the Olympics. Aria: Woah..That's a lot of stuff to take in. So, how do you enter these exams? Haise: You have to go to the Hero League registration area in Tokyo. So from where we are in Osaka, over an hour just to fly. Imagine walking though, it would take forever. Luckily, you are allowed to travel there by plane and by train so that's fine. Aria: So, should we try entering? Haise: We have planned on entering the day after all of us turn 15. So the question is, we already made our decision.. but what's yours? Aria: This is a lot to take in right now uhm, it sounds like a lot of fun, but it sounds hard as well. You know what? I'm going to enter, I want to do it with you guys. Mina: Really?! That's amazing we can all train together! Haise: Thank you. I look forward to us all training together for it! Soohyun: Yes, we can be training buddies! Let's do it! Haise: Alright! Hands in and Hero League on 3. All: 1...2...3 HERO LEAGUE!! 

(The next day, in the spot again after school) 

Mina: Ok, we need a training plan. Soohyun: What should we do? Aria: I don't know maybe just see what all we can do with our powers, and then work on their strength, speed, skill and strategy. Haise: Dang, that's the smartest thing I've heard all day. Y'know what? Let's do that. I like that idea. Mina: Ok, let's split up about a few meters away from this opening in different ways to have some privacy with our powers, just don't let anyone see you. Aria: Ok. (In their private spots.) Aria: Ok, let's do this Ice blast again. 1..2..3 BLAST! (Ice blasts from her hand) Aria: It worked, I didn't expect it to work that well. Let's try to freeze that branch. Blast! (The branch gets covered in Ice) Aria: :0 That worked too! I'm getting the hang of this! I think I can really do this well! I want to try to make a sculpture of something using plain Ice. Hmm, lets try a basic rock. Freeze! (A rock shaped piece of ice forms on the ground.) Aria: I did it! I got all of them!! I'm going to go tell the others! (Back in the old spot) Haise: Hey, Aria how was your training? Aria: It was really good! Soohyun: The moon come out in little time, so we go back home. Haise: Yeah, you're right we should go we've been out here for like 2 hours. Let's go home and meet back up again tomorrow back here to train. Aria: Ok! Let's go. See you guys tomorrow! Mina: You too Aria! Soohyun: Goodbye! 안녕!(Trans: Bye!) 

(The next day)
