-Chapter one-

|KARLS POV|

           Today was the first day at my new house. I had moved into the country because I wanted to escape the chaos in the city with covid and all those things. It was actually pretty nice here with the birds chirping and the green forest. I unlocked the door to enter the house and saw that it was pretty decent. There was a medium size kitchen and a living room when you first walk in. Then you take a right to a hall with two bedrooms and a bathroom then when you walk back to the main area there was another hallway that had a way up to a dust loft and I'm assuming the last room was my bedroom that came with a bathroom in it. 

I walked back outside to the car and grabbed my stuff. Soon after walking back to my room to put my clothes in the closet. I was waiting for some friends to come over to help me bring some other things in. While I waited I decided to go up to the loft. I turned the flash on my phone and looked around soon after I find an old record player and some disc by it so I decided to bring it back down to see if it worked still. 

Once I got the record player and a few disks. I walked to the sink and grabbed a towel got it wet then walked back to the area.  I wiped off the record player the saw the name 'dual' on it. I decided to search it up to see that it first came out in 1927. 

"Woah" I mumbled. The record player had been 93 years old. I wonder if it still works so i put a disk in it and it didn't work. I decided to try another one and it worked but the sound of it was kinda worrying. So I took it out and try another one. The 3rd one turned out to be pretty good but I soon heard a female's voice. 

"Karl we are here!" Yelled Maddy

"What music are you listening to?" she asked while places some bags on the table.

"I'm not sure I found this record player in the old loft," I said answering her question.

"Oh. Well, maybe we can find out later!" She said in a joyful voice.

"Yea-" I said getting cut off by chandler and Chris running in the house.

"Karl!" Chris said excitedly going in to hug me.

"Hey Karl," Chandler said joining in the hug.

"Hey, guys!" I said happy to see them since it's been a while because I have been busy looking for a house.

"Wow this place is pretty nice Karl," Jimmy said walking down the right hallway.

"Thanks, Jimmy" I replied.

"Let's finish unpacking before Katie and Tucker get here guys," Chris said walking out the door.

"Well, let's go," Jimmy said walking out with me and chandler following behind. 

We, all walk out and finish bringing the things in and putting them where they belong. Chris then says

"Hey, boys do you guys wanna explore the woods?"

"Sure" We all reply.

"Be careful though guys" Katie said with Maddy agreeing.

"We will," Jimmy said following us out the door.

We all start to walk down the woods following Chris. Looking at how green it all is and pointing out things every once in a while. We found a creek and we decided to jump over it. We all made it across.. well except chandler he got all wet. We all started to laugh at him while he groaned out of irritation. I lend him a hand and pull him up. Soon after we started to continue the journey. 

After walking about 17 minutes after Chandler fell in the creek we found a house that was surprisingly in good shape. We decided to walk in it and we all separated. I choose to go to the basement of the house. I walk down the stairs and explore a little finding old bottles, boxes of shoes, and newspapers. I decided to see when these newspapers had been made when I looked it said 1895-1927. I wonder if the previous owner had come here and found the record player and put it in the house. Since it wasn't too far from 1927 only a 32-year difference. I grabbed the newspaper and put it in my pocket and continued to look around the basement till I found something that caught my attention. It looked like a big metal box covered in sheets. I was hesitant at first but I decided to put the sheets down to see what it was. I gripped the sheets pulling on them and falling to the ground as dust and bugs go everywhere. 

"Gross" I whispered as if someone could hear me.

I looked at the box and saw it say time machine right it the top center of the door. I thought those things are fake, not real. I decided to call the boys down to look with me just to be safe. The boys run down the stairs wondering what was wrong. They look at the "Time Machine" with a confused look on their face. 

"What is this?" Asked Chandler.

"A time machine idiot" Chris responded.

"Do you think it's real?" I asked.

"Probably not" Jimmy replied quickly.

"We should head back it's getting late and we don't want the girls worried do we?" Asked Chris.

"Yeah, your right lets go," I said walking out with the boys behind.

We got back home and Chandler didn't fall this time. As soon as we get back there girls welcome us as well a Tucker. We all ate then sat down on the couch. 

"So did you guys find anything out there?" asked Katie with Tucker in her arms.

"Yeah we found an old house" Chandler replied.

"Oh really?" Maddy replied excitedly.

"Yeah we found some cool things in there," Jimmy said.

"I found a newspaper from 1895," I said.

"Wow, did you bring it back?" Katie asked.

"I did actually," I said starting to pull the newspaper out of my pocket and handing it to Katie.

"Wow, did you read it?" she asked.

"No, not yet but I will once you guys leave." I quickly replied.

"Oh ok." She finished.

We continued to talk for about an hour and it was now 7 PM so they decided to leave because Tucker was getting upset and they were all tired in general. I locked the doors then the time machine popped back in my head. I looked back at the newspaper and thought maybe it had information about the time machine. I walked back to my room and changed into my pajamas. After I was done I walked over to the bed grabbing the newspaper and getting in bed.

I started to read it for about 15 minutes but then I realized someone named "Sapnap" a 20-year-old boy who passed away at war in 1917. He was quite a charming man if I didn't say so myself. But I started to wonder what his life was back then or how he died. But then I saw some other names like Dream, George, Badboyhalo, Wilbur, Nihachu, Quackity, Tommyinit, Ranboo, and more. But they all died, unfortunately. They all looked like cool people to hang out with. Like the kind of people, I would wanna hand out with especially that sapnap guy. But I continued to read on.

Finally, I found something out about the time machine. But most of it was stuff I already knew about them. It turned out that it may work so I might try it and see. And maybe I could meet that sapnap guy and all his friends before they died. And the weird thing about it was the newspaper wasn't messed up like the other ones maybe it was destiny. I looked at the time and it was 10 PM. Wow, I must have been reading a lot. I put the newspaper on the nightstand and turn off my lamp then rested my head on the pillow. Thinking about everything then the thought popped back up in my head.

"What if it was destiny.." I whispered.

I stared at the wall for a little bit soon falling to sleep.
