pictures (a group one-shot, just for an intro)

"This is a joke." Devyn started, arms crossed.

"And so was my birth." Theo nodded solemnly. "And I turned out horrible. Let's make this picture the opposite, okay?"

"Ready?" He asked, making his way behind the camera.

The group in front of him shuffled and cursed, a nightmare of teens whacking each other in the heads.

"Short people go in front," Riah announced, grabbing Armani by the arm and taking her to where the assumed 'front' was.

As Armani protested, starting a banter between her cousin that was practically untranslatable, besides the random "YOU RACCOON!" and "YOU FUCKING ANTHEAD-", the boys had taken the liking to the back of the group.

"Well, Drew is insanely tall, so he belongs in the back," Caden had pointed out, before being interrupted by a Brown-Haired Demon #1.

"Aren't I tall too?" Elijah blinked.

"Compared to us, not really." Parker murmured under his breath.

"You can wish, and keep wishing." Liam responded, snickering.

"Yeah! Kindaish." Drew shrugged.

"I guess?" Caden tilted his head, scanning Elijah like he needed to process his height once more.

Elijah posed terribly, as if that would help.

James, watching the exchange between the boys with wide, almost terrified eyes, turned to Heather with an expression like a silent cry for help.

She only stuck her tongue out at him, as if saying HA! Loser.

"I'll just be with him at the back," Drew said, flashing a genuine smile, beckoning to Elijah.

Lia Mara had been watching the exchange from not-so-afar, groaning.

"This isn't a height contest, you guys." She scolded. "Just go with your partners or something and make out until Batman starts the timer for the picture thing."

About three-fourths of the boys turned the color of tomatoes. Liam just took a detour and fainted.

Lia Mara didn't look impressed. But neither did the girls, who were talking about something entirely different now. Even Raccoon and Ant Girl had resolved their problem faster than you could say "help," now crowded together in a huddle of scary women.

"We could flash our signature weapons!" Ami suggested, beaming.

A bunch of girls stuffed their hands into their pockets and pulled out a dagger.

Robyn stared, holding an unlit firecracker.

Lixi stood in the back, slowly slipping her stick back into her pocket.

"Or we could do one of those badass poses," Beth grinned, swatting a few blonde babyhairs out of her face as she demonstrated a pose, one of her iconic battle stances she'd use before declaring, "LET'S KICK SOME NEVERSEEN ASS!"

"I don't think I can do badass poses," Audri murmured, making their way to the girls side of the group as the boys started to riot over heights.

Nym nodded too, ignoring Klaus's screams that merged along with Oliver's. She couldn't blame him, she'd be scared too in the midst of a screaming, running Klaus. At least Oliver had a Rain with him, the poor boy shielding Oliver's eyes now from the scene as if it were gore.

What on Earth were they doing anyways?

"Scudding idiots," Megan huffed, reading her mind. "This is crazy. Why did we ever think we could take a group picture? We're never going to leave in one piece. Someone is going to get themselves killed."
