ISA
The morning's are usually quiet. Whether my mama is cooking breakfast or just leaving the shower, there's always the low hum of silence lingering. Thus causing my confusion for this particular morning. It was....noisy. Chaotic even. Without much effort I threw my legs over the side of my bed. After checking my phone and replying to a text from Bailey, I got up and headed downstairs to see where all the noise was coming from. Ren sat on the counter stool. Luca sat on the counter. And Calum stood leaning against it. They were making so much noise yet doing absolutely nothing.
"You're up!" Calum stated the obvious.
"Yeah, uh where's my mama?"
"She left. Said something about being early on Fridays." That was weird considering she didn't have to leave until one on Fridays.
"She leave breakfast?" I made my way to the fridge to get some fruit. She didn't always make breakfast so I bought fruit for the mornings. Nobody said anything so I turned to see them all tuned into their electronic devices. "Hello," I snapped my fingers "Earth to teenage boys....you listening?" Luca just ignored me but Ren smirked as if he was purposely trying to annoy me.
"Nah. She didn't. You could make some if you want, though. School is gonna start a little later today if it doesn't get canceled entirely." Calum answered whilst staring at his phone.
"Why? Is it supposed to rain or something?"
He shook his head.
"No. The guy who threw the party last night has an uncle that owns part of the district. Therefore, he has a say on what happens in town."
I slowly nodded before getting out ingredients for French toast and bacon. If I had time I might as well make breakfast seeing as it was only twenty-two minutes after seven. I truly hadn't realized how early I was to school yesterday. "Can you make me some?" Calum asked. "Me too!" Ren followed. "Mm-mm. No. If you want some, you can help me make it. Wash your hands."
They actually got up and went to the sink. After washing their hands with the dish soap and drying them on the cloth that hung on the stove handle they waited for me to give them instructions. "You want some, Luca?" He didn't say anything before getting up and washing his hands as well. I thought it best to let Luca cut fruit because he seemed the most careful. Calum mixed the eggs and cinnamon while I flipped the bacon and toast. Ren laid the soaked bread in the pan for me because he insisted on actually touching something important.
I should've seen the knife that was slightly poking over the edge of the counter but I hadn't seen it until I had blood running down my wrist and dripping onto the floor. It wasn't that deep but it still stung like a bitch. I turned to the sink and began running cold water over it. "Can someone get me the bandaids from the bathroom?" They all stood frozen. Staring. Or more-so staring at my bleeding inner wrist. "The fucking bandaids please? I would get them myself but unless you haven't noticed, I'd have blood dripping on the floor." If I wasn't mistaken, I saw them all take a deep breath in before Luca began to slowly step closer to me. Ren grabbed him and Calum turned me towards the sink. He turned the hot water on so it was warm and ran it over my wrist.
I watched as the dark crimson liquid went down the drain. Calum's hand shook a little as he held my wrist. His eyes were visibly lighter. His brown eyes were almost....red. Ren appeared behind Calum with the box of bandaids in his hand. Calum quickly sped off before Ren replaced his spot and turned the water off. His nostrils flared and his eyes looked brighter as well. His normal brown was more of a red like Calum's. "Are you okay?" He gave a curt nod before placing a bandaid over the cut on my wrist.
