Alone in her small room, she finally closed her luggage, dropping herself on the bed facing the window. While looking outside, she quietly hummed to the song playing on her speaker which was 'Butterfly' by Loona. The white fluffy clouds were slowly moving in the blue sky of the city, and birds were passing by, here and there.

She thought they were an accurate representation of humans as they were going everywhere they wanted to, going back and forth between the places and travelling around the world.

It was the last time she was sitting in her room like this, pondering about whatever came to her mind and daydreaming while looking out the window, waiting for her mother to call her for dinner.

And tomorrow would be the last time she'd leave this house. Even if all of this sounded blue, she wasn't sad about about it. Instead, she was relieved to finally live on her own. She was leaving for a better place, to live her dreams and build a new life as she always longed to.

"Everly!" She heard her mom shout from the kitchen, interrupting the train of thoughts racing through her mind. With a small sigh, she lazily got up and made her way to the kitchen, where she found her mother.

The blonde woman was already sitting in her chair, waiting for her daughter to join her. They started eating silently, almost awkwardly, not bothering to look at each other just like every dinner they had together.

"So you're leaving tomorrow" Started the person facing her. The girl looked up, a bit surprised by the sudden conversation which was definitely unusual.

"Yes" she answered quietly.
"I guess you'll do well without me.. I'm proud of you Everly, and your brother is too. You might see him in Vancouver, he told me he was going to come to have some time with you."

A slight smile appeared on the younger's face as she glanced at her mother. Since she never received a lot of words like this, hearing it from the older woman was quite strange, but the mention of her brother made her even more excited.

"Really? That'd be cool." She answered softly,
"Yeah" muttered the blonde, and an awkward silence took over the kitchen once again as the two women finished their meal.

They cleaned the table together, and after this the young girl bid her goodbyes to her mother, none of them feeling the need to do more than these simple words. Then, she went back to her room, preparing herself to go to bed.

She slipped under covers and waited for sleep to take her away. After what it felt like hours of overthinking and tossing back and forth, the tired girl finally fell in a deep slumber.

She woke to the sound of her alarm and yawned tiredly, slowly getting out of her bed with a lazy sighs. She took a warm shower before dressing with an oversized white hoodie and simple black ripped jeans matched with a pair of Converse to be comfortable during her journey.

The girl then brushed her teeth, put on some light makeup and let her hair fall on her shoulders. Finally ready, she grabbed her luggage and left the house.

During her ride in the taxi, she had her earphones on, looking at the cars through the window. She arrived early at the airport without any problem. She decided to take quick breakfast in one of the multiple cafés while waiting for her flight.

An hour later, after many checks, controls and wait, the plane was taking off. She was calm even if she barely took the airplane in her life, listening to Seventeen's discography, and even fell asleep during the flight.

She felt excitement and happiness at the idea to finally start her life anew and go to the university of her dreams. That's what she always wanted, and it was time for this to come true. She wouldn't regret leaving her mom or her city.

She never had a strong bond with her mother; after the divorce of her parents, Everly had to live with her mother since her dad chose to leave with his new girlfriend and their kids.

But even with these years spent together, they never got closer, and the younger thought it was better like this way.

She had her brother, Mark, and it was enough for her. He always made her feel loved and protected, much more than their parents did, he was the best brother she could've ask for.

He also left for his studies a few years ago but she supported him with all of her heart. She was really proud of him, and she hoped he'd be proud of her too because now it was her time to start a new life.

Hours later, she was out of the plane and got back her belongings. She was now in another taxi, going through the beautiful city and approaching her dream a little more every seconds. She was questioning herself, hoping that she'd get along with some people, and that she'd do well in her classes, and all those kind of things.

The taxi came to a stop and she got out of the car, her luggage with her. For a few seconds, she stood there, observing her surroundings. She breathed calmly, closing her eyes. The silver haired girl gathered her thoughts and all her determination and entered the campus, heading to the main batiment with confidence.

She luckily found a secretary- well, the secretary found her, and led her to the principal's office. The young woman thanked the lady and knocked on the door.

"The door is open" answered a voice coming from the inside of the room.

She entered and introduced herself politely, and the man made a quick presentation of the university and its functioning. After half an hour, she was given the key of her dorm, and thanked the principal with a smile.

She got ouf the office and followed the cute little signs indicating the dorm's location. To her surprise, what the director had called a dorms were not so tiny houses. They were spaced and seemed really cosy even from the outside.

After walking down the alleys, she finally found the one she'd be staying at. She retained the excited smile forming on her lips and the urge to jump in excitement like a little girl, and softly knocked on the door.

Hearing noises from the inside, she waited for the door to open and she was caught off guard by the person facing her. A young brown-haired man from her age was standing in the opening of the door.

"Yes?"

"S-sorry, wrong place I guess" she said, confused as to why would there be boys in the dorm she was supposed to stay in. He flashed her a sweet smile in understanding.
"It's okay." answered the boy kindly and went back to whatever he was doing.

Everly stood there, without moving for a minute. It was the good dorm, the right number, the right place. But she should be with other girls, right? Not knowing what to do, she decided to go back to the director's office and ask the key from the good dorm.

Hey, first chapter! Thank you for reading this, I hope it's not too awful. It's the first book I post on Wattpad, and English isn't my first language so I might do some basic errors, I'm sorry for it. Don't hesitate to comment or give advices, I'd read them happily ^-^

Have a good day and see you next time!
