"Metal, wake up, the Doctor's coming." Orbot droned.
Metal jolted awake to see Eggman approaching him, Orbot and Cubot, and stood up on his feet quickly.
"Did you get any results?" Metal asked Eggman curiously.
"No, unfortunately," Eggman replied. "However I didn't at least find any health problems going on in your body, which means that's one less problem we'll have to worry about." he inquired.
"Is that seriously it?" Metal questioned him.
"I'm afraid so, Metal," Eggman said.
"Just my luck." Metal groaned and began pacing.
"What kind of sorcery could've caused Metal Sonic to turn organic in the first place?" Cubot asked Eggman.
"I have some suspicions that this was the work of the Chaos Emeralds or the Master Emerald," Eggman replied.
Wait what? Metal stopped pacing and glanced up at Eggman curiously, wondering why he would assume that the powerful jewels would be held responsible for his new state of being.
"Sometimes the Master Emerald will bestow a curse on those who have committed countless crimes, despite that many of us have done just that, it decided to punish Metal by making him reborn into a Mobian," Eggman explained.
"Well if it's punishing me, why do I still have some of the same abilities as I did when I was still a robot?" Metal asked him in confusion.
"It could've been worse, the Master Emerald could've decided to put you through a terrible amnesia phase." Orbot queried.
"So, what? I have to find the Master Emerald and convince it to turn me back?" Metal asked him.
"That won't be easy Metal," Eggman said. "Unlike Sonic, Knuckles, and Shadow, you don't have a special connection to it," he told him.
"So I'm just going to remain a Mobian forever with the possibility of turning old and dying like any other living being?" Metal questioned Eggman, his voice getting tense.
Eggman stayed silent and put his thinking face on before he paced around. There has to be a solution, there just has to be. Metal thought while crossing his arms, waiting for his creator to come up with any ideas that might help.
"I'm afraid this is beyond my ingenious mind Metal, I can't think of any other way to break this curse without any consequences," Eggman informed him.
Chaos must really hate me then. Feeling stressed out, Metal sighed and put his hand on his forehead, hating the fact that he was cursed without a single warning.
"However." Eggman piped up, having Metal glance at him. "I did make these some time ago for a special occasion," he said while handing Metal two red inhibitor rings that conveniently matched his eyes.
"What can I do with inhibitor rings?" Metal asked Eggman in confusion.
"These will help channel your powers so you don't end up losing control or running out of energy so easily," Eggman answered him.
Metal took the inhibitor rings from Eggman and slid them on his wrists, a small wave of energy immediately pulsing through him and causing dizziness, but the blue hedgehog recovered quickly and glanced down at his wrists. Now I probably look like Shadow.
"You alright there Metal Sonic?" Orbot asked him.
"I'm fine." Metal replied.
"Go ahead and test your powers to see if those inhibitor rings work," Eggman suggested.
