Minhyuk felt like he'd be great friends with Hyungwon, he felt like there was an automatic connection that made him feel comfortable with the taller male he'd just met that day.

The next morning

Minhyuk was woken by his loud alarm ringing in his ears.

Minhyuk woke up with a very joyful feeling, he wasn't sure why but he was happy he wasn't feeling as tired as usual.

Minhyuk quickly showers & throws his clothes on.

He does everything else he needs to before he leaves to pick Hyungwon up.

Hyungwon:
coming

Hyungwon walks outside and sits in Minhyuks car.
"fancy seeing you here" Hyungwon rolls his eyes and starts reading his book.

Minhyuk smiles & starts driving to the hell-like place called school.

Minhyuk closes Hyungwons book & grab his hand.

"why do you always want to hold my hand?" Minhyuk shrugs "i just do"

although it didn't seem like it, Hyungwon was happy he's finally made a friend— i guess you could call him that.

They arrive at the school & Minhyuk takes Hyungwons hand again. Hyungwon starts to hear his name come out of people's mouths.

"uh, can you come to the bathroom with me quickly?" Minhyuk agrees & they make their way to the bathroom.

"why are we in here?" Hyungwon disconnects their hands. "listen, we're in school and there are whispers going around, most of them revolving around how you're talking with the school loser, how you're holding hands with him, how you're not bothered by his embrace, how you're not completely weirded out by him—"

Minhyuk shuts him up suddenly. "stop worrying so much, i don't find you weird at all. yeah i may have only known you for very little time but i think you're a cool person, i'm excited to get to know you."

Hyungwon smiles and wraps his arms around the boy. "thank you, that means a lot to me. the rumors that were passed around really had an impact on me, everyone believed it too."

Minhyuk and Hyungwon leave the bathroom, heading to their classes.

After school

Minhyuk runs and jumps on the tallers back. "oh- fuck" Hyungwon manages to blurt out. Minhyuk hops off his back and grabs his hand. "so what do you want to do today?"

Hyungwon stretches and groans. "i cant hang out today, i have to help my mom with something at work or whatever." Minhyuk pouts.

"pleaseeeee" Hyungwon chuckles "nooo, i'm sorry. we can hang out tomorrow" Minhyuk rolls his eyes.

Once Hyungwon got to his car he waved at Minhyuk "see you soon"

Minhyuk arrived at his house and greeted his mother. "Son, you seem so happy lately, have you got a friend?"

Minhyuk smiles while thinking of the man he talks to daily. "yeah, i guess you could say that" His mother smiles & pats his back. "whats her name?"

Minhyuks smile fades softly. "um. his, mom. it's a guy." Minhyuks mother takes her hand off of him.

"you know my rules. i don't mind you having male friends but even the second you think you could be possibly gay you WILL get out of my house."

Minhyuk sighs "right.." Minhyuks mother smiles again and finishes watching the show she had recently paused.

Minhyuk walks up the steps, annoyed at his mom. Minhyuk picks up his Diary & turns to the page marked September 9th.

He begins to smoothly glide his pen on his paper.
"Dear Diary.. I don't get it, why is my mom so homophobic? why is she so worried about who others love? Do you think she's going to love me if she finds out about my sexuality? will she try to burn me?"

"Also— diary, I've met a guy named Hyungwon. he's really sweet and is easy to talk to. i'm happy we're becoming friends. He has this pretty smile he tries hiding when i grab his hands. Do you think he's scared of me? i don't know. when i get close he suddenly stiffens up. is it too early? What if he doesn't like gay peop"—-

Minhyuk quickly shoved his diary into his desk as his mother bursts into his room. "Come eat dear." Minhyuk sighs & mumbles under his breath "ever heard of knocking?"

Minhyuks mom heard it but let it slide.
Minhyuk eats his food and walks back into his room. "geez i'm so bored. i want to see Hyungwon."

Minhyuk grabs clothes from his closet and lays them out. "alright, i'll go see him anyways"

He changes and hops out of his window.
