It was January 5th 1989, I had fallen asleep and had the weirdest dream...

>>Dream>>
"where am I?!" I screamed in terror. The evil laughter overwhelmed me and filled me with anguish and dismay. "ANSWER ME" I screamed once more. The voice was loud and harsh. The floor felt wet so I looked down and saw that the room was filling with water. Once more the voice laughed with his devilish tone. He said "One day you will understand, One day you will learn, One day you will pay for your actions... One day.. One da..." Towards the end of him speaking his voice started to fade. I assumed I was waking up, but for some reason I wanted to stay in this dream world. I wanted answers even if it was just a dream...

I heard loud footsteps coming up the stairs, as I tried to hide under the covers, that's when my mother walked in. My room had posters plastered all over the walls, with Metallica, AC/DC, Kiss and many more. My bed was all the way to the right side of the room and my closet was on the left side. I had a large window in the middle of my bed and closet. Black curtains and black carpets, as well as black bed sheets. Besides some socks on the floor my room was quite clean. My room wasn't square, the ceiling was shaped like a triangle because I basically sleep in the attic.

I faced the wall when my mom yanked my blanket off of me and suddenly I felt a rush of cold air hit my body, she yelled "LILLIAN YOUR LATE TO SCHOOL, AGAIN!". I groaned and looked over my shoulder and saw her face, she was furious.

"Next time you're late you're grounded for a week young lady!" my mother said in a stern tone.

"Okay okay, sorry mom it won't happen again." I said meekly.

My mom sighed and said "It better not".

When she walked out of the room I slowly sat up on my bed, rubbing the eye crust from my eyes. I took a deep breath, stood up and went to my closet. I grabbed a basic black T-shirt and a skirt, long enough so I wont get dress coded. I tucked my shirt in my skirt and grabbed my favorite black leather jacket. I have long black hair parted to the left side so most of my face was covered with my luscious hair. I wore a thick line of black eyeliner and mascara, black lipstick and I was ready for school. I always got made fun of for how I dressed, but I honestly don't care.

As I walked downstairs I smelled the wonderful aroma of bacon and eggs. My mom was always the best cook, even if it was something as basic as eggs and bacon. My mom's name is Cherly, she was beautiful with her short blonde hair and dark blue eyes. My father had brown eyes, so sometimes I ask myself how I ended up with green eyes. My mom wears a white blouse and a long flower printed skirt. We live in Florida, like really south of Florida, it's always so hot here.

She turned around and looked at me with one of her hands on her hips. "Why can't you just wear some color?" my mother asked sadly.

I ignored her comment and slipped on my black tennis shoes. My mother walked up to me and handed me my breakfast that I had to eat on the way to school. She looked at me with a slight smile then walked away.

"Oh honey before I forget to ask what do you want for your birthday?" my mother asked in a sweet loving tone. I looked at her and smiled.

"Not sure yet mama. It's crazy how I'm about to be 18 in two days though." I said in glee. She said "Well think about it, it's a really important day you know. Now get to school, don't want you to be too late." she ended her sentence in a slight giggle.

"Thank you mama!" I yelled as I ran out the door.

When I ran out the door I walked slower to quickly eat. I then shoved the trash in my bookbag and ran to school as quickly as possible. When I got there I heard people screaming at each other. My instinct told me to go towards the screaming so I did. Walking into the room I saw my crush, His name is Leo. He was yelling at some kid, I didn't recognize him. Leo and I were best friends that I secretly had a crush on since 5th grade. He is a few months older than me. He had long wavy blonde hair and yellow eyes. We had a similar style in clothes but he wore some color, mostly white. I ran up to him and stood in the middle of both of them. I put one of my hands in Leo's way and one in the other kid's way.

I asked calmly " whats going on?".

Leo started to raise his voice, he never raised his voice at me, "Get out of the way Lillian." I told the kid to scram, he hesitantly backed up then ran. I looked at him sympathetically, but before I could say anything he said furiously "Lillian... Why the.. Why did you let him go! He was bullying someone, I was trying to help!".

I suddenly felt a rush of guilt and said meekly, "I understand but violence isn't the way, it's not like you Leo..".

He sighs and says "let's.. Let's just get to class lilly..".

Looking down at the ground I said "okay.. Let's go".
