"Monarch was built right on the huge crater where one of the huge part of the comet fell 5 years into the apoc. It took about 4 years for Monarch to be completely zombie proof. To achieve that Moon Dong Ha made the Hunters who passed the trainings and trials go out into our dying world to look for materials that are still good to use." Chanyeol said as a few people arrived carrying trays.

The smell made the other's stomach grumble in hunger.

"Eat up everyone." Yixing said before gesturing to Chanyeol to continue.

"The history of Monarch also dates to when the very first evolved, mutated and Ultras appeared. It basically holds all the history of how we hunters and every district have come to existence. Without Monarch we wouldn't be alive now." Chanyeol explained as a hologram of Monarch sits on the table infront of him.

"Okay. Now why would the outlanders be after the comet pieces?" Hoseok asked after swallowing his food.

"The comets contain a huge amount of energy. Monarch used that energy to protect the base. It contains a kind of energy that repels the zombies away. The very reason why you can't see a zombie come near our base. This energy is lethal to the zombies. It drains them." Sehun explained, changing the hologram of Monarch into the comet.

"So they want the comet for themselves. Given that they live at the worst part of the earth where most of the zombies lives or gather for brawl. I'd actually understand them but it isn't a way that is good. If they manage to somehow obtain each and every piece we have then it'll all be over for us." Namjoon said carefully as he wrote new information he haven't read in the books back at District 3.

"Yes. But to also wipe out the other districts. Without those comets zombies would come after each district. And since we have abilities we may survive but not many stand a chance against an Ultra. Let alone the Queen of Ultras, Mutated and Evolves." Chanyeol said as he looked outside eyes holding nothing but seriousness.

"Wait there's a Queen for each zombie?" Jimin exclaimed with a mouthful of food.

"Yes except the normal ones. Each Queen has extraordinary abilities and powers that is out of this world. The only person to have ever killed one is Moon Dong Ha himself." Sehun said before nodding at Chanyeol.

"So we might need a plan to stop the outlanders-"

"Okay let's do that later. Now on with Taehyung and Baekhyun." Jungkook butted in. He badly wanted to know about Taehyung's past.

Chanyeol laughed at Jungkook's eagerness. "Alright. So let's start with the relation between Baekhyun and Taehyung. At first I thought they were just bestfriends as Baekhyun kept mentioning Taehyung's name a lot in his journal but as I read deeper I found out Taehyung is Baekhyun's little brother."

"Wait. So this..." Jungkook took out a family photo of Taehyung with an old couple standing behind him. "...Isn't Taehyung's real family?"

"No. They are his adoptive parents. Taehyung got lost when he was 7 and got into an accident causing him to have amnesia. He was then placed in an orphanage and was adopted by them. Their real parents died 2 years before the apoc happened. Baekyun has actually been keeping tabs on Taehyung. Making sure he was doing okay, sadly his memories never returned so all Baekhyun could do is watch over him from afar."

"That's kinda sad." Jin mumbled and the others agreed with him. While Jungkook kept his eyes on Taehyung's face looking for any signs of emotion in his eyes.

"Indeed it is. Baekhyun endured a lot when he was still human. Though he had enough money to sustain him a few years, watching Taehyung made it all harder. Seeing your brother living all alone not even remembering you. Baekhyun got turned earlier than Taehyung did. Since his journal ended at year 2022." Chanyeol showed the last page of Baekhyun's journel which stopped at year 2022.

"Oh. Taehyung got turned at Dec 30, 2023." Hoseok said before taking Jungkook's bag then pulling Taehyung's diary out. Also showing the last page of the book.

"Really! That's his birthday. Anyways let's carry on. After Baekhyun got turned somehow his mind retained some memory in it but only the part with Taehyung in it. He started looking after him, making sure no zombie gets near his house to harm him. Baekhyun also evolved and adapted pretty quickly. Right now he can already speak but not straight yet. But he can write well. So most of what I'm telling you is Baekhyun's experience as an evolved zombie. It's all his journey."

"Wow. How come he evolves pretty quickly?" Jin asked after scolding Jungkook, who kept shoving food in his mouth while also keeping an eye on Taehyung.

"Now that's a good question. Baekhyun was actually roaming around the place near Taehyung's house when one survivor who got caught by a few zombies had a bag full of different level cores. It was all normal zombies and only a few evolved cores since back then only a few had managed to evolve quickly. He took the bag and consumed all those cores. He even learned how to get more. He killed the zombies within a hundered mile radius from Taehyung's house. This not only protected Taehyung but also made Baekhyun strong."

"Okay. We are speechless here. Can Baekhyun talk to us?"

"Sure. Baekhyunie please introduce yourself." Chanyeol said as he ushered a somewhat shy looking Baekhyun who kept hiding behind him.

Slowly Baekhyun moved forward, standing beside Chanyeol. They watched how his mouth slowly opened.

"H-hello.......I....I-I'm B-Baekhun." Chanyeol laughed, slightly pinching Baekhyun's cheek.

"Silly its Baekhyun not Baekhun." 

"How can an evolve acquire the ability to speak?" Jungkook asked as he gestured to Taehyung who's eyes still zoned in on Baekhyun.

"It actually depends on the core they consume. Some cores boost their abilities or give them new ones while some changes them, making them look more human than zombie. Baekhyun here is on the half stage of it."

"So on what stage is Taehyung now?"

"From the looks of it, he's only at the starting point of it. It's where he can understand you, can decipher evil from good and his looks aren't much zombie like now. Only the veins, his eyes that still changes color and his inability to speak indicates that he is an evolved zombie."
