Confession of a Late Arrival

I should explain that, upon writing this, I do not excuse my actions. What I am trying to do is set a background for the information that I am giving you. The disaster that led to the deaths of thousands falls squarely on me and those I called allies. At this point in time we were desperate, but in the grand scheme of things we were fools.

When my family came to Titan city from our dying earth, we thought for sure that we were safe, safe from the petty grudges and bigotry of the old world. This was a world without class, without borders or anything that could divide us. Yet, when we arrived, we were separated into the very end of the city, the Late Arrival Zone (LAZ).

Those that lived here longer, some whose roots go deeper than the machines that dot this land, did not take too kindly to us late arrivals. Those that live in the north were lucky, the south had to contend with the smell of the methane ocean, which reeked with the stench of a million sewers.

But, I am venting, you do not care for our plight, and that is not why I am writing this. I write this as a confession, but not just my sins, but also of your competitor, Sympotica.

When I first heard of their sins, it was at bar Sisyphus. I came back from the Eauponics mill. My dearest friends, Darko and Rani were there. Darko was completely drenched with his cheeks deeply red. "Well," I said, " it seems you started the party without me."

"What's there to celebrate?" he said, " I'm screwed!"

"What do you mean?"

"He lost all his money, Immanuel." Said Rani.

"How?" I asked.

"They screwed me over, those..."

"It was Warren, they promised him riches if he found people to invest in them." Rani interrupted

"What is Warren, another company?" I asked, " I thought there were only three, when did they allow another one."

"They didn't." Said another man, " Warren operates under Senpotica."

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Someone in dire straits, like your friend." The stranger said, " Dekker is my name."

Odd name, I thought but nothing more.

"Well Dekker, you must be mistaken. I work in their Euponics mills, I pumped water, but not medicine."

"" True," said Rani, " what would an industrial company want with medicine."

" I wondered that myself." Dekker said, " all I know is they are." He then added, looking to Darko " or more specifically, the money."

"Those, those," Darko said, his face becoming the exact shade of a tomato " that's it, we have to do something about those, those..."

"That's what I came to talk about, actually." Said Dekker, " I have an idea, several, in fact.

"Let's hear it then."

Rani and I were confused, however, Darko was more excited. " We can finally nail those bastards," he said.

"Yes," said Dekkerd' " we shall, however, we'll need a target."

"Ah, what are you doing Darko." Said Rani, " we all work for Senpotica, if we lose our jobs, then what."

"Would you rather continue working for a Corporation that victimizes people like your friend." Fired back Dekker.

"What! Most certainly not." Said Rani, " but without food on the table, power, water, what will we do then."

"Find a way." said Darko, " besides, Senpotica isn't the only corp around."

"They talk." Said Rani, " they may not like each other, but they talk.
