1. Where it all started

It was a little after midnight when the firefighters on the late shift heard the door bell ring. They were in the middle of a poker game so they made the newest member go answer the door. The newest member had just start a few days ago, he was 20 and his name was Jake.

Jake didn't know who was at the door that late and made Kate, his girlfriend that he met during training, go down stairs with him. They got to the door and found four little baskets each with a baby inside. There were two pairs of baskets tied together with a string, attached to the strings was a letter.

Jake and Kate picked up the baskets and carried them upstairs to the rest of the team. When they got up stairs Chief Janson asked them who rung the door bell. Right as Jake opens his mouth to respond one of the babies starts crying and soon the other three join in. Janson stands up quicker than the flash and runs over to the baskets. "Where the hell are these babies from?" Janson says in a weird voice. "Well that's what we found at the door" Jake started, "two sets of twins, not an adult in sight" Kate finished. "Aww how cute you finish each other's sentences" Janson says, "But now isn't the time." "Sorry Chief" both Jake and Kate say.

Kate reaches down and grabs one of the letters.  Kate started reading the letter, "I'm sorry to do this but these are my twin daughters, I am only a seventeen year old girl that would have no help raising them. I think it would be best to leave them with you and I hope that they will be taken care of by loving parents. The only thing that I want you to do is give them these names, Avery and Alex. Once again I am very sorry to do this but I hope they live long and happy lives." Kate finished reading and picked up one of the girls, she had beautiful green eyes. Kate looked directly at her and while tickling her stomach said "well hello there Avery" Avery grabbed Kates finger before falling back asleep.

Jake walked over and picked up the other twin, looked at her and said "well I guess your name is Alex" Alex reached up and touched his face, and as she did that he looked at her eyes, the were a brilliantly rare color. They were purple. "You have the most beautiful eyes that I have ever seen little Alex" Jake says while still looking at them.

Kate and Jake set the twins back in there baskets and Jake picks up the letter from the second basket. It says "Hello firefighters, I'm a newlywed who got pregnant on accident and when my husband found out it was two twin girls he left me, I'm a single woman now that only has a job at Publix. I barely make enough money to keep myself fed and heathy, adding two baby girls to that would make it a lot harder. Please name these girls April and Alyssa, and please make sure that the are taken care of. Have a good night and take care of my children for me." Jake finishes reading the letter. "This lady really didn't want to let them go you can see tear drops on the paper." This time it's Chief Janson that walks over and picks one of the girls up, "why hello little one, I love your eyes they're like the ocean, I'm gonna name you Alyssa." One of the other firemen, Jasmine, walks over and picks up the fourth and final baby, "I guess that makes you April, what a pretty name" Jasmine looks up at Kate, "Kate come here" "Why" Because I need you to tell me that I'm not crazy" "what do you mean" "what color are her eyes?" Kate looks down at April's eyes, "oh my god her eyes are orange" says Kate, "I've never seen anyone with orange eyes." "Neither have I," Jasmine says while still looking surprised, "they're magnificent"

That's all I've got for now, if anyone has any suggestions on a name for the book please let me know.
