cнapтer 2 - Quinn Is Crazy

"Evelyn!"

My ten year old brother ran towards me and crushed me in a hug. "I haven't seem you in months! I missed you!"

"Awww, I missed you too. Wheres mom?"

"She had a business meeting."

"And she left you home alone?"

"Well, yeah. Only for a bit, she told me you were coming over." She smiled at me. "Well, here I am now. Whatcha wanna go?"

"How about we watch a movie? I have Titanic."

"Deal." I said quickly, making myself comfortable on the couch. Everyone who knew me knew that titanic was my all-time favourite movie. Two hours later, I had teary eyes. That movie got to me. I quickly checked my phone. 1:20.

"Woah, sorry buddy. I gotta go, a very important meeting with Quinn." Quinn called me earlier today and told me she HAD to meet me. I completely forgot, until now.

"Who's Quin? Your boss? Oh right, you work at dad's coffee shop."

I laughed at the thought of me at a real meeting. For some reason, I couldn't see that. "Haha no, Quinn is my best friend. Don't you remember her?"

"Oh yeah, the crazy one who won't shut up about Justin Bieber?"

I nodded. "Yep, thats the one. I'll see ya soon, okay? Tell mom I stopped by." I ruffled Eli's hair and made my way to the door. I put on my boots and grabbed my coat.

Ten minutes later, I was around the corner, entering the bakery Quinn had asked me to her at. What was with this surprise meeting? With normal people, it would be serious. But with her, it'll just be something only she could care about.

As soon as I entered the shop, she spotted me and waved. I sat down across from her. "Hey. Why'd you call me down here? It better be important, I was watching Titanic with Eli!"

She rolled her eyes at me. "Of course it's important. One Direction are in town! And I jave two tickets to their concert!" She squealed. Is this what she had to tell me? I raised an eyebrow at her. "What?" She asked.

"Nothing, it's just....so what? They're people. I don't get the big deal about them being here." This has happened before, and it ended up with me being dragged along to a Justin Bieber concert. I shuddered at the memory. Nothing personal, but I'm not his biggest fan.

"So what?! This is One Direction we're talking about. The biggest band in the world right now. Do you know how many awards they've one? You have no idea... " i knew she wouldn't shut up, so I took out my phone as she babbled on. Hmmm, Twitter. I haven't been on in a while, its overpopulated with One Direction fans.

One particular line in Quinn's speech caught my attention. "What would you do if I told you Ed Sheeran was the opening act?" I took my eyes away from my phone.

"Are you serious? Like, is he actually the opening act?" She nodded her head and drummed her fingers on the table. "Yup. Pretty awesome, right?" I nodded.

"Now will you come with me to the concert?" I nodded a few times.

"Definitely. I'll leave after Ed -"

She interrupted me. "I don't think so. If I have to sit through him, you have to sit through One Direction. They're not that bad, are they?"

Okay, okay, I confess. I like a few of their songs, only a few, some being 'They Don't Know About Us', and 'Over Again'. But all of the upbeat stuff turned me away. I prefer slower music that's more down to earth and meaningful.

"Well, I don't know. When is it?" I asked. "This weekend. I bought tickets a few months ago."

"Wait, you knew you could convince me?"

She smirked. "Well, I have my ways."

"Quinn Richards, you truly are insane."

"With pleasure."

Quinn's POV

I'm so happy Evelyn excepted! I really needed someone to go with, and I couldn't imagine going without Evelyn. I'm so lucky Ed Sheeran was the opening act. I can't wait for Saturday!

I'm sorry that it's kind of short. This story will have slow updates because I'm writing as I go along. I hope people actually read this story. I know I only started it yesterday, but I hope this one will be popular.
